I didn't think that it would happen, but sure enough I got 6 months of insurance and my husband is going to call blue cross next week. I too only have a visitor record. I can't work or go to school, but I can get sick now, so I guess that's something.

I had the same great experience flying into Calgary. I may actually try to land there, even though I'm less than an hours from the border crossing at Coutts.

My FBI Cert took about 6 weeks. As for the amount of time after that I can't really say, I submitted mine with my application.

There's really no rhyme or reason to the process... especially with the Visa office closures. At this point, I don't care who issues the PPR... I just want them to issue it!

I'm in the same situation as your wife. I've had many sleepless nights waiting for our PPR. Congrats again!

In the May Application thread, someone just received their PPR from Ottawa. They thought their application had been sent to LA... I guess that Ottawa is taking an even more active role.

I'm so happy for you guys! Jealous, but really happy for you. Is your wife already in Canada? Nice to see that they interesting to see that they requested a copy of the passport.
