    MAY 2013 Applications (Citizenship)

Hi coolblues1980 and May'13 applicants, I had my test today. It went well. Easy if someone studies. I got 19/20. After came the real part, meeting with the CIC agent. She asked me multiple questions: - Company name I work at - Position at the company - Salary - Married or not - Have kids or...

Test soon, moving to another province right after test

Hi forum, Hope you enjoying the weather. I have my test on the 27th of May. Very soon. However, my family and I have decided to move provinces this summer. Do you think if I update my address after the test, the CIC will schedule the oath in the new city automatically? Do you think it's a good...

Waky waky senior / vigilant members Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!

Nomi2012, The short answer is that you can leave Canada. the risk of an RQ will be slightly higher. However if you have ties in Canada your case will be easier. By the way, there is still a risk of you getting an RQ pre-test or post-test regardless if you're in Canada or not. If I was you, I...

    MAY 2013 Applications (Citizenship)

Hi andriy155. I am not certain. But once I entered Canada from the US by land and I didn't have any of my papers except for my driver's license and medicare card. Mind you, I had a study permit then (about 8 years ago). The agent at the borders just looked up my info on their system and they...

    MAY 2013 Applications (Citizenship)

Kenyadian. Congrats on the oath. Getting stuck in Mexico is not bad. Lool Jokes aside, where to Mexico are you going? Would changing your itinerary to the US be an option? Crossing by land wouldn't be a problem I believe with the certificate.

    MAY 2013 Applications (Citizenship)

hi Dejaavu. Thank you :) I hope the agent will be as nice as the one you encountered. I have a 33 day buffer and I am missing 4 days on my Residence Calculator (3 because of stamp dates and 1 date that I forgot to declare). I am worried that the agent might think I am dishonest and issue an RQ...

    MAY 2013 Applications (Citizenship)

Hi coolblues1980, Thanks. The residence calculator takes that day into account. So overall I am missing 3 days because of this mistake and 1 day that I forgot to declare. Silly me! I will explain that to the agent. When I ordered my GCMS notes, I have under the NOTES section a note tagged by...

    MAY 2013 Applications (Citizenship)

oh coolblues1980! I can't believe what I just noticed! I was checking every stamp on my passport and gosh I realized the following: 1- I landed on Sep 4, 2010 by land (I was already in Canada). Right after, that day I went to the US with my wife (by car) and came back on the 5th. I did not...

    MAY 2013 Applications (Citizenship)

Congrats coolblues1980. My ecas was updated that Friday (the 9th). When I first checked in the morning, I had no update. Later in the afternoon after I got the letter, I double checked and it was updated. A Canada Day oath would be amazing. Keep me updated.

Right mrbravo. I agree. I will translate them. However, my sis has the same arabic stamps and she was fine. But you never know. Good you brought up this point. How long did the CBSA report take? Will I have time you think? I have the record of employment so that shouldn't be a problem.

    MAY 2013 Applications (Citizenship)

Thank you springtime! I did travel to the US and Colombia after I applied. I will double check my passport. But I believe all my stamps are in English. I have one that's in Arabic when I went to Syria. But that was 8 years ago. You think I should still translate it? Did you take your exam in...

    Scarborough office citizenship oath

Weren't all offices off yesterday? I assumed that there will be no updates today. All employees have to share the weekend stories with each other today. Especially that it was Easter! So no time to update the system or work on applications. Please be considerate and understanding :P

did anyone contact local office directly?

Why are you worried? I mean what can you do regardless of the outcome? Call the CIC and check the status with them. If they send you an RQ, just take the bullet and send the required documents. You have nothing to hide right? I also assume you're more frustrated than worried. Correct?

    October 2013 Citizenship Applications

Hi Hasss, There is no confirmed timeline for the test invitation. Some applicants do get invited for the test in a record time. But take my application as an example, I am still waiting for the test. Some MAY/JUNE applicants, from the same local office, have already gotten their citizenship...
