Re: PR apps, if it were me going through cases in order and I see one that's gonna be a lot harder than others, I may decide to shuffle that one to the back or put it aside for a while...
I really don't get the hold up with it?
The newly lander PRs have just had an interview with CBSA (or CIC if inland) to confirm all eligibility. This should be as simple as taking the form, removing the photo, checking it is good and creating the card.
I have a feeling they're having issues...
There's a couple of problems with what you've stated in your last post Canadababy:
- Keep in mind that the validity of your PR card is NOT a guarantee that the IO does not investigate and find you in breach of the RO. The IO will look for 730 days of presence in Canada in the 5 years from the...
lol, not offended at all and I do get your point.
I want to have a Canadian citizenship because Canada is my home. I am proud of the fact that I came to live here. The only real "perk" or practical reason I will need a Canadian passport and such is to have much easier visits to the US...
My understanding is that they are going to rely on just 1 medical, the one they do as part of the CEC. It doesn't make sense to ask someone at the OWP approved stage (which can be as early as the AOR date) to do a medical and then that medical might just expire before the final decision on CEC...
Definitely. Even in a country that is so far away, there is a struggle between the "be the best at all costs" attitude that comes from the US and the more refined social responsibility that comes from our English roots. Australia and Canada are very different in a lot of ways (temperature's a...
Side topic obviously, but it's hard to see how this appeal is anything but Conservatives realizing they wouldn't have very many votes amongst those not currently living in Canada.
This is called a "landing appointment" and the letter that eventually comes with your CoPR explains the details of how to do it.
You can also read my thread on this topic, hope it helps:

And what makes you think "a majority of the population" sides with immigrants on these issues? I would think the opposite. Personally, even I can see there are some good parts in this bill but there are also concerns.
While I agree there are parts of the bill that are unfair, I wouldn't go so far as to question if Canada is democratic.
People voted Stephen Harper and the Conservatives in. All sorts of bills that have questionable stuff in them are similarly passed without much debate as it is the majority...
OK, wow I stand corrected - that's a good way to go.
And NZ, you've probably got this next step figured out, but with 12 months of experience in a suitable job your wife could then apply for PR under CEC, adding you as a spouse.
Agree fully with on-hold. Also:
Yes, really "easy" to return to a place you haven't lived in for several years, pick up a new job at age 57 and keep that job for 10 straight years? I don't think anyone is going through that much hassle to get the OAS.
Which would make more sense because it...
