How We Compiled Our Spousal Sponsorship Application - 2018

I made 3 little bundles, each one put together with a paper clip. Bundle one had the checklist, the barcode pages and all the application forms. Bundle two had all the civil documents (photocopies of passports, husband's birth certificate, police certificate, marriage certificate, etc). Bundle...

    Spouse sponsorship

I don't think it matters if they're handwritten or typed up. I've seen some people get them notarised, but I don't think you need to do that. Looks like others have given you some good tips though

    Spouse sponsorship

We included some photocopies of cards people sent us after our wedding congratulating us from family and friends, and several of our photos showed us with family at various events. I've seen other people on here get friends and family to write letters attesting to the relationship etc, so you...

Best way to send them updates is through the web form. You'll need to inform them that you're moving back to Canada because they need to be notified of changes of address. Again, I think the best way to do this is through the web form. Congrats on the baby, by the way!!

    APRIL 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Yeah, from what I've seen on this forum, they don't reject applications without any prior communication, they always send a Procedural Fairness letter first. I got Decision Made on 17th July and we are still waiting on the PPR too, many people have to wait about a week or so for it.

    APRIL 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Honestly, it's not uncommon to have to wait a week or so for PPR. They don't reject applications without sending a Procedural Fairness letter, as in they give you a chance to submit more info to clear up things they might not be convinced about. Hopefully some PPR emails get sent out next week.

Forgot to put my UCI number in the spousal sponsorship, will my application be returned?

I didn't put my UCI on my forms and it was fine.

Common law sponsorship, submitting additional documents

I would say so, yes. Either you submitted enough proof to satisfy them and everything goes through smoothly, or they're a bit unsure and request additional info from you anyway. Best to wait and see, rather than confusing them more by submitting extra stuff.

Common law sponsorship, submitting additional documents

Personally I would wait until they have actually requested any additional docs from you. They may decide they don't need to see any more proof and are happy with what you submitted. We got an additional document request when our application was still at Sydney, and the line in my ECAS said this...

    sponsor for second time

As far as I'm aware, there's no minimum period of time you have to wait to sponsor again, as long as the divorce is all finalised and you can show the paperwork. You will either have to have lived with your boyfriend continuously for at least a year to sponsor him as your common law partner, or...

    Pr status

Both the sponsor and the PA have to include address history, but the sponsor only needs to provide 5 years of address history while the PA provides 10 years. Unless you lie about your address history (which I strongly recommend that you don't), they will then see that you two lived together...

    APRIL 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

I don't think you get a red flag for calling them, and it might help put your mind at ease for a little. I called in June after we didn't hear anything for 2 months, I was concerned that maybe our additional documents hadn't made it through or something. It was hard to get through to a person...

That's called a ghost update! Usually means they were doing something to your file, and people often get some kind of correspondence a day or two later. So keep your eyes peeled for an email or something!

Hey congrats! We just got Decision Made too, it should mean the passport request is coming to you shortly! Seems pretty common right now for them to update the status to Decision Made and send out the passport request a few days later.

Thank you!! I was not expecting it to go so quick, after the medical showed up in GCKey I was fully ready to have to wait a couple of months. Couldn't believe it when I saw it
