It would only be implied status when you have taken actions only renewing or changing your conditions in Canada, so yes it is valid.

Yes I was in the same boat as you guys. Got my visitor extension until sometime in 2020 (I don’t really care lol) applied in September 2018. Ans early October 2018 we submitted our PR app.

Not on CIc website. But my guess is because everyone thought they would end the owp pilot in January 31, 2019. So CIC received a large number of applications, they are short staffed.

Cic agents a lot of times have given people false information. If you applied for OWP when you still have valid temporary status (worker, visitor, student) you will be receiving it within 4-5 months. Whoever applies for owp when they are out of status then yes they will only get it after sa.

They didn’t say specifically who would be affected by this processing time, so I guess anyone who hasn’t received owp can be subjected to this wait time.

the feeling of losing a potential job that could support your own and your family is horrible. You are Oct 1, but at least you got the approval for owp a week ago while others who applied on the same day as yours or a few days after you haven’t got any news yet. We all are looking for timeline...

Not that no one likes it. Its only because people are so very frustrated. But you should know that we are all happy for one another when there’s good news. So congrats!!!
