It's good to see that there's several of us out there I had read various people commenting elsewhere that implied status didn't count as valid status - it's nice to have proof that it does.

It would only be implied status when you have taken actions only renewing or changing your conditions in Canada, so yes it is valid.

I got my correspondence letter in my email. It says the visa document will be sent to the address given when I applied. Since then, and over 10 days ago now, (it says it takes about 10 days to get through the system). I submitted a web-form with my new address. I haven't heard back from CIC to see if this has been confirmed. I'm not too far away from here I was living when I applied, but I'd rather not have to go there. Is this a generic statement, or do they look at things like new addresses since submission?

I got my OWP approval and got a letter from CIC saying the same. Can I apply for SIN based on it or do I need to wait till I get my actual work permit.

You need the physical permit to take to a service canada. That's what they told my husband, in any case.

Unfortunately you need the physical document. They like to draw things out apparently!

We had a similar situation, but the physical Visa to our old address. So we had to go to our old home and pick it up.

It's timed from date received Looks like they are working through all of October right now, he should be getting his any day now. My husband's application was received on Oct 26, we got OWP approval yesterday. Best of luck!!
