    Question regarding police certificate

I guess I did the opposite of "jinxing" myself. When I called CIC again, I was able to get through to a representative by phone. I asked my questions, and then I asked her about your police certificate issue. She said if it is older than three months, even if it was issued after you submitted...

    Question regarding police certificate

Good luck! I tried to call several times today (I have my own questions about completing my medical, getting my FBI/police certificate, and paying the RPRF), and they were unable to connect me to an agent due to "high call volume". I've read that it's easier to get through first thing in the...

Regd Visit Visa Extension while PR is Pending

I don't know, but I highly doubt it. CIC isn't exactly "communicative." I applied for my extension online. The first and only correspondence I received from CIC was the certificate showing my extended temporary residence permit, received about a month and a half after I applied.

    Question regarding police certificate

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp That's from the CIC website. The language is a little bit confusing. Your police certificate was issued less than three months before your application was submitted, but it's more than three months old now. I'd call the...

I see something strange when I look at our status

Yeah. It really wouldn't be so bad for me, except for not being able to get into better french courses and not feeling like I can leave to visit family. If only I'd applied outland! The rest of it isn't much of an issue for me, since I wouldn't be able to work here even if I was a Canadian...

    Québec Sponsorship

I don't know the answers to a lot of your questions, but I have a couple of bits of info to share. You have to apply for the OWP (open work permit). It is not something that is granted automatically once sponsorship is approved. You should send that in with your application packet (I'm not...

I see something strange when I look at our status

I don't *think* our taxes will be too bad. I worked in Oklahoma for part of the year, so I filed federal and state taxes as "married, filing single." Mine are done, and we even got a little money back (I think my federal return should *just* cover my remaining CIC fees, ha). We have to file...

I see something strange when I look at our status

But if they had a checklist for agents to use, they might accidentally develop some consistency, which we all know would mess with the space-time continuum...or something.

    2012 Quebec Inland Applicants

NO SORRIES! It is frustrating, and at times frightening. Venting is fine. It's not like you were being unrealistic or trying to freak me out ("Quebec will fight to get you deported, anglo scum!" hahaha!). Helps me to chat with others in the same boat. I don't feel quite as isolated and at...

I see something strange when I look at our status

Ah, okay, so MICC will send us a copy. And I can check later with CIC to make sure they got it. You still haven't been fully approved as his sponsor yet, have you? As much as it increases my anxiety, reading a bunch on here yesterday has been really helpful. It may help me avoid some delays...

I see something strange when I look at our status

So the only way you knew that your CSQ was issued was by calling CIC?

I see something strange when I look at our status

Sadly, I think it is "normal." I know Quebec charged our cc for the fee associated with the CSQ ten days ago. No clue how long it will take them to send it along to the feds. Every day I look, but no change. Wish I could just forget about it for a few weeks.

CSQ Inland application -- implied status?

I've read a bit more here on the forum, and it appears that you have implied status once you get your PR AOR (permanent residency acknowledgement of receipt - the letter CIC sends to say they have received your application, and which gives you your UCI/client number). So yes, if you received...

CSQ Inland application -- implied status?

Is this for someone who is applying for permanent residency through family class sponsorship? You don't apply for the CSQ until CIC acknowledges receipt of the application packet for sponsorship and PR, and the CSQ is part of the process of getting the sponsor approved. I don't believe the PR...

Quebec - Common Law Partner Confusion!

Hi! We applied inland from within Quebec, as well (I'm American, husband is Canadian). Here's a spreadsheet that can give you an idea of the timelines other inland applicants are experiencing: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArrQkNcsLVotdDJOOWJlZkhVOEhCMHZCakNoa3UzVHc#gid=0...

Medical Question - US Citizen, applied inland from Quebec

Hello! I applied inland from Quebec. App received in October, AOR late January, and we're waiting for Quebec to send the CSQ at this point. I've read a lot about medical exams. I've seen people who did them before they even sent their apps in, and those who waited for CIC to request them...

    2012 Quebec Inland Applicants

I think most bureaucrats are allergic to humour! We actually had a funny customs US customs agent in Montreal, as we were leaving Quebec for Oklahoma after our HHT (house hunting trip). He was VERY dry, so it took me a minute to realize he was funny. He asked me if I was smuggling any okra (a...

I see something strange when I look at our status

My favourite thing I've learned recently... Le problème est toujour masculin, mais la solution est toujour féminin. Bahahahahahaha! I'm finding french VERY difficult. I feel I'm learning to read it and write it at a decent pace. Slowly, but still making progress. Even speaking...I'm...
