dont worry! your work experience will count from July 2014. Visa is required to travel. that has nothing to do with work. good luck! :)

I can understand how you are feeling at this moment. I think its gonna be too tight to apply by Dec 31st. Its always good have some extra time after 1 year to avoid the confusion of vacation. I think you should wait and see what seniors suggest you! But I wish you best of luck! Cheers...
