Is your common law Canadian? My gf landed without issue, i just had to be there with her and hand my passport over as well.

It depends - i've heard some people only got 2 months, we had 9 months ( jan 2016) - if you are given a lot of time and don't need to flag poll right away, just go to the local office to become PR. Otherwise if you're in a rush or impatient like a lot of us then flag poll :D

Congrats!! This is why we had my gf's sons passport here - so we can send both at the same time; which would allow us to flagpoll first then go get him. Email - it was titled "Ready for Visa" - make sure you are checking your spam folder as well as a lot of people report it showing up there.

There is one thing i forgot to mention about when we got our COPR - As it turns out, someone screwed up. They received our passport on the 19th, there is a COPR for Feb 23rd in there, then another one for march 3rd - it appears that whoever was taking care of it accidentally processed it twice...

You have every right to call the CIC and ask for confirmation that they received your passport copy... I'd also tell the lawyer to give a discount with their ineptness

Ok we completed flag polling yesterday at Coutts AB crossing. Total time took us 2 hours at the border, half hour with US border patrol to write up her refusal letter and then half hour in the line up to get into the border... and the rest of the time in immigration on the Canadian side...

If you do not include an xpresspost national return envelope they will send it back to you regular mail (meaning it can take 10-20 days to get back to you). When you send it you put "Attention: " and your application number which usually starts with two digits and a bunch of numbers.

My gf called CIC today and they said they have such a high volume of passports to process that they havent even started on hers yet. They told her it may be another week or two for them to even be able to get to it :( As a reminder - we sent feb 18th via courier - they received on feb 19th...

mine was also received on the 19th and still waiting... Bhim was the same but they said they just had their tracker activated yesterday.
