I have a one word nickname (fahim) that I want to mention in the application. However, when I click YES to having a nickname, it asks me to provide it in a "Family name - Given Name" format. How should I go about typing in my one word nickname there then? Just type Fahim in both boxes?

What are you talking about? I went to the CIC website and told them that I wish to apply from the UK. They asked various questions and handed me a bunch of forms. I think they want me to send them to Nova Scotia or some place. Why are you saying it's online?

Do we send the police checks to CIC ourselves or do we ask the police to send the certificates to CIC? If we are sending it ourselves, then maybe I can start the process of trying to get them from both countries right now.

Good information! I am a bit unsure about the police certificates. I remember reading somewhere that you need that from wherever you've lived most of your life in the last 10 years. Between 2010 and 2020, I've lived in the UK for 8 years. Does that mean that I only need a UK Police Check?
