    Separation certificate

Are u applying as common law? If not, then u will have to wait until your divorce comes through and apply as married. There is no Fiance status in Canada. You must be either married or common law. As for the separation certificate, and if you're common law, I'm not sure... Someone should be by...

Birthdate and father's name -- issue?

I don't have experience with this, but whatever way you choose, just write an additional explanation to ensure that the visa officer understands the discrepancy. The fact that it is your father and you are sponsoring your wife, it won't be a big deal and a simple explanation will suffice.

There are many more, much more knowledgeable people on here than me. I learn from them as I read, sometimes confuse things too, but thank you.

    use of representative form

The applicant will complete the form and name u as representative. Again, it may state for both spouses to complete the form for other cases of immigration using the same form, or when an outside lawyer is being named representative. As for the interpreter, don't sign that. It specifically...

    schedule A background

This is not the case for spousal sponsorship. Clearly if you're being sponsored by your spouse they are already a PR or citizen. It is worded like that because this same form is used for different classes of PR immigration. In other instances, a spouse is part of the application. In the case of...

Different papers for application - good question!

From your previous response it just sounds like u want ppl to justify your wanting to redo the papers, but keep her signature page. It is in your best interest not to do that, even though it will take more time and money. Use a courier and the delivery will be quicker and more certain. Good luck.

    anybody from dominican republic?

Haha yep. I cried when I got the email (we put me as the representative so I would get the mail). My parents were like, what's wrong?!? It wasnt expected at all! Although I did expect our process to be pretty simple since we were together 4.5 years before getting married and I lived in DR for 3...

Different papers for application - good question!

My husband comes from a country where the mail system is laughable and people laugh if anyone asks if they think they will receive something in the mail. If u spend the extra money and pay for fed ex or Dhl this won't happen. This is also not an excuse for doing something that is not allowed...

    anybody from dominican republic?

Good luck 2world1love! It is a scary process but when it is over you will think that it wasn't so bad. My husband's PR was approved in 3 months. It was only in Santo Domingo for 1 month. So it was crazy fast and we weren't expecting that at all, so hopefully yours goes faster than expected as...

Different papers for application - good question!

I don't know, but that doesn't sound like a good idea to me. If you keep the signature pages but your spouse didn't actually sign the application papers you're handing in..... I don't think that should be allowed... Maybe people who have done the same thing can pipe up and let you know their...

Changing name after marriage before applying for PR?

You don't need to change your name. And if u do so before sending in your application it could delay your sending in your application while your waiting for all of your new identification.

    IMM 5490 and 5669

You don't sign this if you're helping your spouse. It is understood that spouses will work on the papers together and obviously discuss them and help each other. I would think the only time someone would have the interpreter section signed would be if there was a professional interpreter being...

    barcode

Yelp, so then hand written or separate typed sheet is the acceptable response. Most of my info on the forms, besides basic thing like name, address, etc. I wrote "please see attached paper" and just typed up my whole response in a word document. There are only 2 forms that have bar codes, so u...

    Spousal sponsorship

It depends on the visa office. I got everything back except for the actual immigration forms and the police check. Every single other thing was returned. Best to send photo copies of things if you aren't able to part with them, as some people don't receive things back.

    Spousal sponsorship

I'm not entirely sure. I got married mid year and my spouse was landed and had a sin number by the time we had to do taxes. Hopefully someone else with more experience in this will respond and let u know of their experience. Good luck.

    Spousal sponsorship

When doing taxes for a spouse that doesn't have PR and therefore no sin number yet, they say to put 000-000-000 as the sin number for the spouse.
