    anybody from dominican republic?

Are the only flights to SD through the U.S.? Is here anything directly into Canada? If not your husband may need a U.S. Visitor visa to be able to have a layover in the U.S. How does that even work?! Or would you have him drive to puerto plata or la romana to get a direct flight from there?

    Additional family information

Only he needs to complete this form. This form is used for other types of immigration to Canada, and so it can be confusing for the spousal sponsorship. Since there are no kids, and you're already a Canadian PR or Citizen, you don't have to fill out this form. Only your husband as the principal...

5481 is the correct form. Financial evaluation isn't required for spousal sponsorship. Good luck

    Spousal sponsorship

It won't affect his PR application. Unless he has extremely strong ties to his home country (good job, house) and a good amount of money saved in the bank, chances are small that he will receive a visitor visa. But it won't affect the PR, especially if this is his first attempt, so it is worth a...

    Spousal Sponsorship

As soon as your husband lands and goes through secondary immigration, they will ask him a question or 2, sign his confirmation of permanent residency paper and he will then officially be considered a PR. He can then immediately apply for a SIN and once he has that number he will be legal to...

    Spousal Sponsorship

Since your children are Canadian, they will only need to be mentioned on IMM 5406 Additional Family Information form. anybody from dominican republic?

I know what a relief I felt when I saw that! I thought the medical results had been lost since most people seemed to have those results pop up even before they had notice that their app was received in SD.

    Mexico

So it appears that Dominican Republic is now being processed through Mexico. Seems they keep adding and adding countries into Mexico processing. Some people from the Santo Domingo office still going through processing are very anxious about the move from SD to Mexico. Hopefully they add more...

    Identity names confusion Egypt

You need to write your name exactly as it appears in your passport. If you're sponsoring your spouse use your Canadian passport. If you have 4 or 5 names in your passport, write it in the application as so. A surname can be more than one name and given name can also be more than one name as well.

    anybody from dominican republic?

Yes, I noticed that too. I had to scroll down and click on "D" to see any info about Santo Domingo. I'm certainly glad that I don't have to deal with this change that is afoot! I hope you all receive good news soon!

    anybody from dominican republic?

Yeah, it was a pain. This was before I was married or sent the application in, but I was still very active in a group and learned a lot about the process. Things moved quickly from Haiti to Santo Domingo because of the Jan 2010 earthquake that hit Port-Au-Prince (I was living in Puerto Plata...

    anybody from dominican republic?

I just looked on the CIC website and it would appear that the only applications for Pr actually being processed in Santo Domingo are Federal Skill Workers and Canadian Experience Class: Express Entry. All other PR apps are posted as being processed in Mexico. Hopefully that doesn't last long...

    anybody from dominican republic?

I feel like Mexico is not the place to help speed it up. The average on Mexican processing times tends to be longer than Santo Domingo. Not to mention, Mexico is already the processing centre for a few South American countries! Maybe it is like someone else said that they mixed it up with...
