A Texan here too. I asked my brother in law the other day "y'all like avacados?" He looked perplexed and I thought 'my goodness! He doesn't know what a avacados is!' Nope he just couldn't process y'all. Finding that everywhere I go :P

I just want to know if it's true there are large consequences from the IRS if you establish a retirement fund or buy a house because I want to do both while a Canadian PR and hopefully one day, citizen. And there is no way I would ever give up my US citizenship. This blog post sounds so dire.

Apparently you can get a NEXUS card. Read this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/nexus-program-t141690.0.html

    NEXUS

I'm not sure if you can get NEXUS if your citizenship is with a country that is not the US or Canada. I can tell you that the rules are different when you live in the US and when PR is gained in Canada and you have to start following the NEXUS rules of the country you reside in. Example: I am a...

Last night I sold one of my cars to a woman who immigrated to the US from Ecuador. I told her I was immigrating to Canada and she was flabbergasted that as an American I have to wait for my Canadian "green card". She actually thought that as an American I could drive to Canada and get a...

Regarding driving a car into Canada to fisit. Can you do so with paper plates? Say you just bought the vehicle outright, no loan, have insurance, proof of sale (not sure on title since it's new). Also anyone know if you can drive a car in the nexus lane if you didn't register it with nexus?

How long was the drive? I'll be coming from Houston up to the Kitchener area. So probably crossing in Sarnia too. Possible in two days?

    LMO Processing Time Ontario

I was recently offered a job and the employer is filing an LMO (their first). Their lawyer is telling them it should be 8-10 weeks but I'm reading that if it's a new company it can take 3 months. Do you think there is any likelihood, if it is approved, that I could start in June?
