Is this normal or should I start inquiring?

No, security is usually the last step. But CIC has no control over the process as it is carried out by CSIS. For most applicants, CSIS just sends a "no trace" notification. For applicants from some countries, the process is longer, as CSIS checks databases and gets information from other...

Is this normal or should I start inquiring?

Lithium, First question, are you from Pakistan? I think I remember from one of your earlier posts that you were. If so, you can expect a somewhat longer security check. I've seen anywhere from 2 months to 6 months, and don't know any Pakistanis that haven't gone through a longer security check...

requirements for citizenship will increase to 5 years

It doesn't matter when you received PR. The citizenship application rules will be the ones in place the day you want to apply for citizenship.

copy of all pages of passport needed or not?

I also only sent the page with the personal info. My philosophy is...follow the checklist and keep it simple. The VOs have hundreds of applicants, and therefore, thousands of pages of information they have to review. No need to add to that burden.

    Second RPRF and Biodata Email

So, I think I figured out why I received a second RPRF and Biodata email. I had received the first one, along with the MR, on Dec 6th. Did the medical and paid RPRF thereafter. But my status on ecas had remained "App Received". My GCMS notes showed that I was recommended passed. Also the RPRF...

Almost getting PR, but getting married to Canadian citizen soon - advise?

Yes. Under no circumstances must you land without informing CIC that your marital status has changed.

    Second RPRF and Biodata Email

I was under the impression the Biodata form was only for family members that were going to get visas issued, and not for Canadian dependents. Is that not right?

    Second RPRF and Biodata Email

Thanks, Vijay and Toby. The email does not state that I should ignore it if I've already paid. In fact, it's the standard email they send out when first requesting the RPRF and Biodata. I've received exactly the same email before. My RPRF payment was the total amount, and I know that I don't...

    Second RPRF and Biodata Email

Hi guys, I just received a second email requesting my RPRF and Biodata (this time from CPC-Ottawa, which seemingly is the new name for CPP-Ottawa). These had already been requested when my MR was sent (Dec 6th), and I had sent the RPRF receipt and Biodata forms the next day. My GCMS notes...

Medical results received but still not in process

Wondering if there is anyone else on this forum that sees App Received and Medical Results Received, but no In Process status on ECAS. It's been over 40 days since I received my MR and RPRF requests and medical results were received around Jan 17th. My last GCMS showed Recommend Passed as the...

    February 2013 Applications!!!

Faiyaz, Your medicals are valid for 12 months. I know plenty of people that have reused medicals for work permits as well as immigration. They are fine as long as they are valid....no need to do the medical again. If you have a confirmation of the medical exam, just scan that and send it.

I haven't done it in Ontario, but here in Alberta it took us about 45 days to receive the certificate.

    1) She can come here as a visitor, but would need to go through the visit visa process and show that she has strong enough ties to Mumbai that she will return after her visit. That can be more difficult given that you live in Canada, but it is still possible. The other option is for her to apply...

    February 2013 Applications!!!

Winterfox, On the application site, it says it is recommended you add a consent form for each individual on your file over the age of 18. Just download the form from the link, have it signed to give you consent, and attach. There have been some applicants that have had the spouse's info blacked...

    help RE: x-ray and pregnancy

Ottawa10, Sorry to hear that, but it totally depends on the technician. The one we went to said she saw no reason why my wife could not do the x-ray as she was almost at her due date. The way she explained it to us was that babies that are born prematurely, but past 26 weeks, get chest x-rays...

Medical check-up might indicate Diabetes!! Will it lead to rejection?

This may depend on the physician, but I was only asked to take an additional serum creatinine. The fasting blood sugar and HBA1c test are basically diagnostic tools. I get those done every three months and took all my previous lab results to the doctor, and she looked at it and just ordered the...

BC PNP or CEC - might get laid off

ktm, I'm not completely familiar with the BC-PNP, but most PNP's require you hold the job throughout the process if you've been sponsored by the employer, so you should keep that in mind. Having said that, you can apply for two different programs. It will be twice the fee and duplicate...
