    August 2012 PR Applications

Baham, your application is probably stuck in a very long security check. Have you emailed CIC to ask them? You can also speak to your MP, who would be able to find out for you. There were a couple of applicants from July who recently received their PPR, and had really long security checks. Also...

No PPR yet a month after RPRF and Biodata

    A private investigator....really?? That's a first.

No PPR yet a month after RPRF and Biodata

Well maybe we can make it 1 month. If they're getting their PPR before that, the delay was probably not caused by a security screening.

No PPR yet a month after RPRF and Biodata

A spreadsheet would help, but we should make sure only applicants that have been waiting more than a certain amount of time (say 2 months) should be on the spreadsheet, because anything less than that is just normal processing time. I know Pakistanis and Iranis go through an extensive security...

No PPR yet a month after RPRF and Biodata

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. If you just ask them the status of your application, they may not. But if you ask them to ensure your medicals are included in your file, chances are they might respond.

No PPR yet a month after RPRF and Biodata

I understand there can be some delay when they have to attach another medical report to your file. You could send them a reminder email. Also, apply for your GCMS notes and it will tell you whether they have attached your medical and/or whether they have at least acknowledged your request.

No PPR yet a month after RPRF and Biodata

Exactly! As I said, there are applicants waiting from September, October and November, who paid the RPRF and did their medicals way before me and others. I'm a Feb applicant and tons of people from March, April, May and June have completed their landing. There is no use comparing my application...

No PPR yet a month after RPRF and Biodata

I think the point that you should understand is that every applicant is different. As much as you think you and your friend are the same, you're not. When CSIS conducts security and background checks, they look at names, date of births, nationalities, travel history etc., in different databases...

No PPR yet a month after RPRF and Biodata

Security and criminality are two different things. The police certificates are only for criminality. Security checks are done after the medical and handled by CSIS. It can take a couple of days to over 6 months, and every applicant is different. Depends on your name, date of birth, nationality...

Pakistani passport holders processing time under CEC

I agree with everything you said. The security in all likelihood starts after the RPRF. I do, however, think the timeline from RPRF to PPR is more like 4-6 months from what I have seen on this forum, trackitt and from other people I know who have applied.

    does cic keep previous doc?

CIC has a document retention policy. I think it is 2 or 3 years for visas. Computer notes, however, always stay in your file. You may want to request a copy of your notes to see what was entered when you applied for the visa.

Pakistani passport holders processing time under CEC

The RPRF only means that the application has been found eligible. According to my GCMS notes, my security had not been started just before I received the RPRF. I would assume the security check starts after the RPRF is sent.

Pakistani passport holders processing time under CEC

Thanks for setting up this thread. I've been meaning to do that because the waiting time for Pakistani applicants is aignifantly longer. The security checks usually start after the RPRF when your application is set to in process. There are a couple of applicants from November, January and...

Adeelwaris and zkazmi, what country are you guys from? That among other things will define how long your security screening will be.

Yes. Medicals can be done anywhere in the world. As long as they are linked to her UCID, her work permit will remove the clause about health fields.
