I disagree, I have dealt with CBSA in Montreal and they spoke perfect English. I would recommend choosing the cheapest flight or shortest stop over time.

Did you apply inland or outland? If you applied outland, to get a work permit you will have to get a LMIA from an employer. If inland, you can get an open work permit after stage 1. Currently posted as taking 13 months. You need a work permit of some sort to work.

The amount quoted is correct. If you pay more they will refund the extra. If you pay less they will return application as incomplete.

Looking at your previous posts, I think the reason you were asked to resubmit the form is because the version you had sent was a Inland form and they simply requested the outland form. I know the two forms are similar but you are quite lucky they didnt send your whole application back as I know...

I think this is questionable advise from your lawyer. May people have called and received SA right away, I do not think it slows down the process.

If you are just sponsoring one person, the first one. The second one is for spouse accompanying principal applicant. Although, I imagine it probably wouldn't make much difference which one you choose as long as you pay the correct amount.
