I agree. They could implement a special TRV allowance for those whose sponsorship is approved. They have already the guarantee that we stay straight for our spouses in case all is fake. Maybe a return to home country could be guaranteed with proof of paid return ticket and deposit of both...

    Employment in Canada

If you are willing and flexible you can always have work, even in bad economy. I would not worry. Lets say it that way: Worry is 90% useless and the 10% is good to keep you alert. If you are a performer there is never a bad economy.

    Increase in CIC Processing times

I think it has to do with spending cuts, closing of offices and reduction of workforce. There might be spikes in Applications and they have higher impact with less officers working. Debating it will not help us, It is what it is. I do not think it is deliberately done to reduce the number of...

Ideally pay both fees at the same time. Maybe to avoid complications pay both fees and CIC will refund you the $500 that you paid first. That way you have a receipt about both fees paid that you can use to send with your application and CIC will later refund, possibly after you get the...

It is just that the package was sent to the wrong office. I have seen a few people got their packages sent back within a few weeks if they had things missing, so there is a precheck on the applications. Alberta might handle things different. You do not need to make a new payment, you can use the...

linh14, sorry to hear. Yes, you have to treat it like a new application. Maybe you can attach a letter explaining what happened with proof ( the letter, etc.) and you might be lucky and they process it faster. I would include the new forms anyways. Good luck. Heads up. There is always something...

to sponsor a spouse related to the minimum wage?????

Should be no problem as there is no minimum income required for spousal sponsorship. You just have to explain how you both will pay for expenses and make sure you do not receive welfare.

The postal tracking is your only way to know for now. You will only hear back from CIC once they process your application, which will be after around 90-100 days at the moment. I have sent mine on April 9th and the tracking said received on April 10th. No confirmation from CIC yet but I expect...

its just step one. What will you do in step 2? There is two solutions, either we accept what is being put upon us or we fight it. You want to fight it, good luck changing things as we can only change ourselves , not others and it will take a while to get clear with yourself. So change your views...

Are there any Hong Kong apply (successful or failed) , please come to discuss

Good luck Marty 11. Had already wondered when you would fly over. Stay calm and be confident. They have a seventh sense for that and if they ask weird questions just answer calm and with determination. My interview when i came to Canada was ridiculous but I did put all determination into it and...

I would not even bother to call. Guess the phone is reserved for call center people earning minimum wage and some extra bon bons. They have no clue. I think there is a big difference between CRA and CIC. I never had problems when it comes to tax questions but immigration is something that is...

You will hear from CIC soon about your sponsorship application. Just relax and let things go its way. It will not be 19 months. Have faith and patience. You can read my timeline under my name. Still waiting like Fencesitter for the sponsorship approval.

Application approval rates in 2011 by Visa Office

It is clear that you need to do a good solid homework to get succesful applications in low rate countries. 69% for Hong Kong seems low because of many fraud cases. Yet, I believe with a solid case and evidence there should be no problem. Lets see the glass 69% full and not 31% empty.

Depends a lot where your spouse is applying from. You may need more proof if your spouse is from a country that is flagged for fake marriage.
