Around 24 hours. I did it twice and that's how long it took each time.

    Brampton (Ontario) settlers PUNJABI join

Especially given that Canadians are usually quite welcoming, barring the odd grandpa, there's no reason to form ghettos at all. Being an Indian, threads like this makes me a bit uncomfortable.

30s years old woman want to immigrate canada via express entry

CEC or FSW is irrelevant here. Getting admission into a good Canadian university for masters/phd is tougher than getting CLB 9. Been there done that. Have CLB 11-12 in CELPIP in each sections, masters from a top Canadian university. So I sort of know what I'm talking about. Still I'm in FSW like...

"Ray of hope" thread for 42nd draw

I would hope people stop wishing something dramatic is gonna happen right in Sept. It'd lead to more disappointment. Looking back in 2014 and 2013 (2015 was exceptional due to govt change and elections). quota for the next year usually gets released during first week of November. There is...

30s years old woman want to immigrate canada via express entry

Age won't be a big issue for you. Since you already have a year of canadian work experience plus a canadian masters, I think you should watch out for the express entry changes coming in Fall. There's a very high chance that you would easily qualify for express entry directly. Also, to answer...

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

Marcus. Look buddy, you're not doing yourself a favor by getting on everyone's nerve here. People are polite enough to not engage in a slinging match. The points you are raising, although being factually correct, has no relevancy here. If you're smart enough, now is a good time to probably give...

Obtain PCC again for short trip to home country before PR app submission

I see. Were there other factors which would have made them request a new one? Like expiry on the PCC etc. Did they reject your application altogether, or asked for an updated one. It'll be great if you can fill in some more details as I have visited my country once for a month since getting my...

Draw Forecast from 36th to the end of 2016, >GUESS> calculations

Re: Draw Forecast from 36th to the end of 2016, Facts, statistics and calculations The quota is based on the number of visas, and not on the number of invitations. Some ITAs later on in 2016 would be from 2017 quota.

Obtain PCC again for short trip to home country before PR app submission

Since the visit is for less than 6 months, you do not need. That's what the rule say.

CRS 469, PGWP Expiring July 2016 - Should I go in panic mode soon?

Well, then according to the rules, OP's PCC should have been valid. "For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country."

Students from India for (sep. 2014) intake ...plz share

For documents I followed strictly the university checklist. I had full funding from the university so didn't need to show any financial statements apart from some funds in my savings account. I applied on my own through VFS.

    Online(CIC) vs paper based(VFS) fall 2014

To just add my bit. Online did indeed result in unnecessary delay in few cases. In my case, I had applied on 22nd Feb for Fall'14 and nothing happened on the file till 2nd week of May (by when many Fall applicants already got their visa). I had to withdraw my online application eventually and...
