    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Yes, we've called a few times now and been told the same thing - it's been received, processing doesn't appear to have started but we should hear something "soon". One agent said "within a month or so" which made me flip out a little! Subsequent agents have said "soon", so I'm reading into that...

Awesome! I'm glad to hear others are finally getting approval. Tomorrow is 100 days since I applied.... maybe there will be some good news on our case soon too! :)

Same here :( We were told that the application has been received and hasn't been processed yet, and that we should hear something within a "month or so"!!!! So, I contacted my husband's MP's office and they reluctantly said they'd "look into it". I'm waiting 48 hours before I harass them again...

Oh Wow! That's a little scary....Congrats on getting it moving though! As much as I love my dear husband he is absolutely hopeless when it comes to anything like this - I mean REALLY hopeless. He's a relaxed right-brained creative musician type and I'm the process-driven left-brained science...

As a New Zealander, when I went down to activate a work permit I did not technically enter the U.S., I just told them I was "flag poling" which is a term for leaving Canada and coming back in. They understood completely and other than giving me good humoured grief for wanting to live where...

In theory, but not always! Many people still have long unexplained delays on very straightforward cases. Just like * in theory* it's by date received in Canada too. Most people have a smooth ride, but when they're dealing with so many cases, stuff happens sometimes. I figure maybe the universe...

Yes that right. I've walked through to flagpole at Peace Arch and it's actually quite a nice walk (on a nice day at least!).

That sucks! I honestly suspect that a bunch of files from late November have been stacked somewhere and overlooked. I know this sounds improbable but I deal daily with U.S. departments that process immigration type applications and NOTHING surprises me any more. They lose files, lose parts of...

Great news! Congratulations! I too finally got through but I didn't realise that it had to be the sponsor calling, not the applicant.... DOH! I'll have to make hubby a really good dinner tonight to bribe him to call them tomorrow! Fingers crossed for everyone else!

Congratulations on being "Decision Made" Tanomartone! That's exciting news! ;D We're looking forward to having you back! PS This is your favourite lead drummer's long-suffering wife, in case my username didn't give it away!

Thanks for that! I've been trying to get through to CIC but am limited in how much time I can sit on the phone trying to get through at work. I'll keep everyone posted on whether I hear anything back.

Maybe a road trip to the Island this weekend is the way to go... still pouring here in Burnaby and no sign of it stopping!

I flag-poled to activate my TWP after being on implied status for a while at Peace Arch and they were super-nice. I got more grief from the US side when I flag-poled about why I'd want to live and work in a country where they say "eh" and watch the "girly" sport of hockey!

I know the feeling! Vancouver Island is a great road trip if you haven't been - although their weather forecast for the next week is as bad as Vancouver's! ::)

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Great thanks. I've been calling repeatedly since early this morning but keep getting the message that they're experiencing high call volumes and the call disconnects. I wasn't sure whether they'd actually be able to tell me anything if I got through away. I'll keep trying if they actually do...

Has anyone who's waiting on Stage 1 approval from November managed to get through to CIC in the last 24 hours? I'm interested to hear what they say, but haven't been able to get through to ask about my case. There must be lots of frustrated people out there, all calling today!

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

No movement on my case either... I wish I had got organised and sent everything in a week earlier, or waited a few weeks! Either way it seems things would be going quicker! I already have a client ID number as I'm currently in Canada on a TWP so have been using that to check e-cas.... but no...

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

I work for a US immigration law firm and if things at CIC work like some of the agencies in the U.S., then I'm guessing that our applications are just sitting in a pile somewhere waiting for someone to get to them. You'd think that there would be some logical system where they're processed in...

Hi nzandcanada, It looks like we are in almost the exact same situation (I assume from your name you're also going through the Sydney office?). Mine was received on November 22 and no word on that yet either. I had a minor panic when I first visited the forums and saw how many people whose...
