    So....... AIP (of the person being sponsored) and approval of the person doing the Sponsoring (me) are the same thing? I always thought it was 2 different steps.

    yes, it was received Nov 30 ..... we got the email confirmation and on ECAS it shows as in process - but I have never gotten an email to confirm that I was deemed approved to sponsor

    Good for you! The OWP is the biggest deal (imo) at least you can work and feel like a normal, contributing person while waiting for the rest. Congrats!

    I would not even chance it ! The penalty for working without papers is severe!! Plus that would open the door for a whole lot of people who work under the table and claim it is just "apprentice work" . I would call them, but my guess is NO.
