Gay Immigration In Canada (Crossing The Border)

Welcome MundoF, As stated it's going to be really hard to get a TRV specially if you do tell them of your plans to marry. Quick Question... are you returning to Canada just to get married and sponsor? As a Canadian Citizen you do not have to be in Canada to sponsor and you can remain with your...

Give up PR, reapply later under Family Class

If I were you, I would get back to Canada while my PR was still valid saving myself all the headaches of even having to explain anything, once you meet the residency requirements apply for a new PR card... Sending police checks after your application (outland)

I actually found myself in this predicament, when I applied (from the USA) we had to submit an FBI check and a check for each state you lived in for 6 months or more (they stopped requiring this in May 2012). So I applied for all of them in October 2011 the 2 states I lived in came with-in a...

Am I eligible, and what is the process?

It only said usually on the site you posted. As I said I only trust what CIC says.... and they don't included disability as social assistance, if they were to deny a spouse from sponsoring because they were receiving disability payments that would then be discrimination. the point is the OP...

    My American Husband

When applying In-land they say (CIC) you shouldn't leave Canada because if for some reason you are denied entry back into Canada your application will be considered abandoned and rejected. If he is attending BU then you should file Out-land therefore traveling back and forth won't be a problem...

    Opening a bank account

Even if spouse isn't PR yet as long as it is not an interest drawing account there should be no problem adding them, the interest drawing accounts require SIN or TTN for tax purposes. I have been on my husbands accounts for years at several different banks and I only landed a week ago.

Where to send application??? Seattle or CPP- Ottawa??

The only thing you need to be worried about picking a visa office for would be in case of an interview, that would be why they told you Seattle. All Out-land applications get mailed to CPC-Mississauga no exceptions from there they send them to CPP-O as per CIC website...

Question about a letter recieved from VO

Theres very little chance that the VO is worried about the 3 months since you applied... Unless there was something on her record that would make them worry about it, but most people with bad criminal records don't usually apply for immigration. My guess would be they were expired... oh heres a...

    minimum income requirement

There is no income requirement but, the sponsor must submit an option C or some proof of the previous years income, no income requirement just means they will not deny the sponsorship on grounds of low income, they still want to know how the sponsor plans to support his/her spouse.

Would this SPEED UP my application if I send it?

Also if the Company really wanted her couldn't she/the company apply for LMO? and hire her? I honestly dunno to much about it but she mentioned the offer was conditional to her having PR by the beginning of the year, you would think they would realize they don't just hand them out like that... Would this SPEED UP my application if I send it?

Having the letter included with your application would be good to show you have potential employment but it will not get your application processed any faster. I am sorry I really find immigration consultants a waste of time, by assigning a representative the delay's will be... instead of you...
