As long as your job falls into an eligible NOC code, the exact job description is irrelevant and your eligibility is totally based on your CRS score.

PLEASE HELP GAY REFUGEE CITIZENSHIP REVOKE

Here's another way to look at it. If your friend had come as the partner of a straight person, gotten their citizenship while married and divorced, would he still be concerned? Assuming it was a legitimate relationship, of course not. If your friend did identify as gay at the time, and can...

Company acquistion happened - reference and offer letter are different

Is there some public record of the acquisition, such as a Press Release on the company's website? I would think including that plus the LoE would be sufficient.

Entering Canada before official start date of job using work permit

I just tot a (NAFTA) work permit a bit over a month before my job start date. The officer was happy to issue the permit for that date (he said he could not issue it in the future) and did not seem concerned at all that the start date was about a month out. I then spent the weekend in Canada...

PLEASE HELP GAY REFUGEE CITIZENSHIP REVOKE

Couldn't he just claim he was bisexual? I would expect (though do not know) that that would also be eligible for refugee status if he is coming from a country where being gay is persecuted?

    CELPIP: successful re-evaluation!

My scores were originally R: 12 L:12 S: 12 W: 9 and I thought that the discrepancy was odd, so I requested a re-evaluation on writing. It went up a point to W:10. I had posted a thread at the time, and most of the posters had gotten score increases when requesting re-evaluation, so I would...

    ITA VS PNP ???

PNP == Provincinal Nomination Program. Generic term for the programs run by various provinces (such as the OINP) which offer the 600 point CRS score bonus ITA == Invitation to Apply. This is what happens when your CRS score meets the threshold in a draw. Essentially, it's Canada saying...

NAFTA work permit (pre-approved at visa office)

I got mine in person, it was pretty straightforward. That said, the CIC website had a web form for applying for work permits - I believe that is what you need to do.

Want to quit the job that sponsored my work permit

What type of work permit is it? I recently got a NAFTA work permit. which is a closed permit. My understanding is that even if I leave the job/get terminated, I am still entitled to stay in Canada for the remainder of the permit's length (though not work, unless I get a new permit)

Complicated case - looking for the BEST lawyer!

While I did not end up hiring them (employer hired one without my involvement) I had phone interactions with the two below and would have been willing to hire either. Additionally, a friend used them successfully: Matthews Global Immigration Law 226-289-0944 650 Colborne St., Suite 200 London...

Complicated case - looking for the BEST lawyer!

I recently had an interaction with Bellissimo (potential employer paid for a consult re: work visa with them). RUN FAR AWAY fro Bellissimo. They: Wanted far too much money ($3500 vs $1000-$1200 for a visa from similar lawyers) Were slow to get back to me Were evasive on what services were...

I think i am in big trouble

So I just got a closed work permit last week, which is also issued for a specific title. I asked the immigration officer what happened if I got a promotion with a different job title, and my takeaway from the conversation is if it was a similar job/a job that still qualified under NAFTA, they...

Coming on NAFTA visa - how does it work?

I entered at Pearson airport and they took credit - I would imagine other borders are similar. I am not certain if you can hold 2 at the same time/use them for part time work, so you should look into that.

I would give it until Monday - if you don't get one by then re-create your profile. I believe OINP only issues them one day a week (I believe Monday).

Coming on NAFTA visa - how does it work?

So I just did this today and now have my work visa. I'm a bit unclear on the question you are asking though. The NAFTA Visa (I'm not confident that TN is actually the correct name when Canada issues it) is a single visa that allows me to live in Canada for the defined period (it can be issued...

Job offer expected sooon! Help needed on documentation!!!

I think it's a much better choice for you to re-take the IELTS and get all 7 if that gives you enough points. But otherwise your employer would have to do an LMIA.
