i don't think you can talk to anyone in person. Webform inquiry is the best way to contact them or contacting your MP so that he can inquire on your behalf. Sometimes they just don't respond or take a long time to do so, MP has better chances of getting info you want.. If your parents' file gets...

that really sucks. I feel for you. It's a good idea to ask them which agency is still working on the background checks. I hope they do answer to you. My husband got his COPR yesterday.

Where did you do the x-ray? wait times depend on the RMO, some people see an update quickly after they medical exam, my husband waited for two months before we got an update in e-cas. There is nothing else in between "in process" and "decision made". Sometimes you will even get your COPR/PPR...

Re: NEWCOMER!! 1) I assume physical, stage 2 is when they look at all the evidence you provided. 2) multiple Canadian agencies will be involved in the background checks and duration/complexity will depend on the amount of information you provided to them about your history.

hi messenger I really don't know what types of checks they make but from what I've seen from hanging out on this forum for a year now!!! is that it's usually faster for women than men and it tends to be faster if your "history" is simple, i.e. a single address in the past 10 years. I am not sure...

It is true that they have no idea, they issue background check requests to CBSA, CSIS and RCMP I believe and wait for their responses so it's out of their hands during that period. I am not sure if all three get involved in all cases, probably not if you never lived in Canada. I know that you...

Is there a need to leave Canada and re-enter as landed immigrant?

I don't think she has to physically leave the country, you could also arrange it for her to have her "landing interview" in Canada with an immigration officer. I think most people re-enter because it might be faster.

open work permit question combined with spouse

Hi I'm not very familiar with the inland process so I can't help you with your main question but I just wanted to tell you to really double-check whether you are allowed to be on implied status with a working holiday visa, since this is a visa with a fixed date expiry that cannot be extended...

You could buy a one way ticket since as a PR holder, the immigration officers won't question this. However, one way tickets are much more expensive (equivalent to a return flight). I assume your spouse would still want to go back and visit once in a while, I suggest buying a return ticket with a...
