How to sever ties with home country

If its one of those *intent* to return emails, then we also got it and as a sponsor I did not even leave Canada! I had to provide employment letter, pay stubs, my T4, bills etc. They are pretty picky, basically anything that proves that I live in Canada. For you I guess something like lease...

    Sponsor with DUI: PLEASE HELP

That is true, if you are only charged then you don't even have criminal record yet. But most likely you will eventually, unless you find a good lawyer who specializes on this stuff and spend a lot of money, may not worth it. Blowing over 80 means pretty much that you are screwed.

    Sponsor with DUI: PLEASE HELP

I don't think it will affect your sponsorship app in anyway. As far as I know they don't do criminal record check on sponsors (at least I did not have to do it), unless they do it themselves and contact RCMP directly. I would advise you to apply for pardon as soon as you can to get rid of that...

I think they probably get off on that, it is sadism in some way, playing gods in their tiny cic cubicles in front of computer monitors..

Oh yeah, don't worry, they have asked me about the *intent to return*. I have never even left Canada and they had my passport info, work information, T4s, paystubs, employment letters... When I got that email I thought to myself, are you kidding me?! I think this is all done to delay app processing

    GCMS notes - RCMP check

Wondering if anyone had to do rcmp checks. In our GCMS notes there is a sub activity regarding it: it was requested; type - RCMP screening; status - no reportable trace; validity date - some date in 2016 I am guessing cic did it on their own? They have never sent us a request and we never...

Too bad they send such important documents by regular mail... I often end up finding other people's mail in my mailbox. For all the stress and money spent you would think they could afford a $10 courier charge with a signature requirement....thanks cic.... :'( :'(
