Denied as Common Law,Will Apply now as Married

Since when does CIC make laws, do you know the definition of law? CRA for example has a completely different view of PRs, is that a law also?

    Option C Form

Taxes must be filed every year if we owe the government money or want to claim a refund, or you have to file taxes every year if you had no income but would like to get HST credit etc... CRA has a completely different view or residents and non residents from CIC's perpective... As far as I know...

To be honest with you, I think you should get a lawyer and prove them wrong here. Good luck :)

Denied as Common Law,Will Apply now as Married

So some people will have to go through the hoops trying to prove their genuine relationship (even legally married ones), but CIC will blindly accept common law status in some other country just because the address was the same :)? Oh well, something is definetly not right here, I think there is...

Denied as Common Law,Will Apply now as Married

I am wondering why would he tell CIC that they were already common law before he became a PR himself? He could have just said that they started dating/living together and common law happened after obtaining PR status. Can someone explain? ::) I know it is also hard to prove common law status...

Lying in the sponsorship documentation, what can happen ??

I am really sorry about your mother(not sure how her illness relates to PR app) and extreme long wait time, but it seems that you are trying to blame everyone for *hiding* something as the reason. I don't know the details and its not any of my business, but it seems your situation is not a...

Indeed, it feels like they are doing everything in batches, emails, status updates( IP, DM) etc... It is possible that there are whole bunch of apps with DM already that are still with IP in the system.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Yep, some people do send insane volumes of pictures... I always wondered what other *extreme* applications CIC have received, anything with "inappropriate" material maybe hehe? I mean it can definitely work as a proof of relationship ;D ;D ;D. Not sure how CIC will react to that, or if anyone...

Lying in the sponsorship documentation, what can happen ??

Oh boy, should he also get a death sentence for not disclosing his previous marriage(for whatever reason), which was actually legally divorced as he stated? I think you are overreacting a little bit here, you can't compare his case to an actual criminal charge that CIC wants to investigate...

    Ontario Marriage Certificate

When we were getting ours, the waiting periods were pretty much dead on with the info on the website. We ordered it earlier but still had to wait. http://www.ontario.ca/page/how-get-copy-ontario-marriage-certificate-online

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I am wondering in reality, how long does it actually take (true work) to process 1 application from start to finish, assuming everything is in place, paid fees etc. Probably not more than a month. What exactly are they processing? Do visa officers take applications home and read them every...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

You have a bit of pessimistic outlook, but I can see where you are coming from. I have a feeling that most received applications are just sitting on the CIC shelves collecting dust for 4-5 months. We did order GCMS notes and should see them in a week or so, this is 2nd time we ordered them...
