Does this mean no chance of going on holiday just before expiry of PR card??....what about the provision in the laws that ---you can be out of the country and it will count toward the 730 day requirement if you are employed on a full time basis by a Canadian business?---

In my opinion, thats great news Ather, things seem to be on track....routine background check continues for everyone untill visa issuance. Bear in mind though that I have heard rumors (probably untrue) that some countries (including Pakistani's) checks take longer than the other majority.

AEO cases are taking about 1 year....here is the response I received from London a vrey long time ago (June '09), my case is still awaiting a decision though.... "We endeavour to process Arranged Employment applications within 6 months of receipt, as advertised on our website...

Hi Ather, I recommend you either undo your resignation untill you receive your Canadian visa, or you ask your company for a UAE visa extension...reasons are: 1 - It is definately not a sure thing that you will receive Canadian visa just coz they have asked for your RPRF 2 - As Qorax said...

1 - Maximum delay 3 years from date of first landing otherwise you will not be able to meet the 2 year requirement within the first 5 years. 2 - I'm not 100% sure about visa expiry for first landing, but I think it is either 6 months or 1 year from date of medical - (senior members will confirm)

The 5 years will start counting from the date of your first landing
