Hi folks... In 2014 I had a SIN starting with a 9 and was working on a work permit. Later in the year, I became a PR and received a new SIN. At tax time next year, will I have to file 2 tax returns? One for the old SIN and another with the new SIN? Cheers...

His entry to the USA is based on his passport. Being a Canadian PR means nothing in the eyes of USA. So until he becomes Canadian Citizen, he will require a visa to enter the USA.

Good question... I don't think you need to land at Quebec crossing so landing in Ontario would also be possible. We did not have to show the CSQ at the border in Lacolle; just the COPR.

We used only the space provided in the form and did not add more pages. We chose quality over quantity. Our total package was quite "thin" since we figured we'd do the humane thing and not overload the case officer. Plus it was cheaper to send a lighter application through Canada Post. :)

No interview and no further documents for our case. We just confirmed the passport details were correct and we didnt have to scan anything.

Some countries have passport-like documents for within the country. Australia doesn't have one and your AU passport ID number will suffice for that section of the form. Put the Sydney Visa Office and mail it to Mississauga and make sure to use your Canadian postal address.

Inland: Takes longer (in general) and you can apply for OWP at the same time. Outland: Usually shorter but can not apply for OWP. You'll have to wait until you are PR to work. As I mentioned previously, a lot of people on the Sydney VO thread who have applied Outland completed the whole process...

Hi... Like the others who have replied, I'd wait until he's landed before you move to QC. You do require a CSQ to you land in QC... Can you buy the house in QC and keep your ON address until he lands because that would be ideal.

What is your status in Quebec? If you're on a work permit, you should have RAMQ. I'm not sure if you have RAMQ under a student visa, though. And yes. I think you need the COPR to apply for RAMQ. We have RAMQ because we were on a work visa until we became PR. Not sure if there's waiting period...

We replied to the email from the VO with a copy of the CSQ. I'm not sure which email address it was but we just "replied" to the original email. Just make sure your ID is included. The letter from MICC also said it would transmit the CSQ, but since the VO asked for it, we forwarded them a copy.
