Curious - was anyone asked to attend an interview?

Also, did anyone submit additional documentation while the application was in process in Sydney? If so, what did you send? Our application was submitted about 3 months so wondering if it's wise to prepare some documents in advance to be proactive if/when asked in the next weeks or month based on the projected timelines.

In regards to the passport, has any Australian citizen whose passport was valid for another few years at the time been asked to send the passport by mail? Or scans of the any page if any travels took place (or not)? Or just a no travel email response suffice?

My wife (NZ passport) didn't have to send the scans or add't docs to Sydney. No interview either. For PPR, we just had to write that the passport details had not changed ( vitals) - didn't have to scan that - but in full disclosure, I understand they could ask for diff things from diff people.

No interview and no further documents for our case.

We just confirmed the passport details were correct and we didnt have to scan anything.

Do I need to complete the form "Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union IMM 5409"? I have been married to my Canadian sponsor 7 months so I believe I do not?

Also if anyone hasn't yet come across Pelipeli's post for how she organized her application check this out, super helpful..

Although I think I wont do quite so much work/include so much evidence! To each their own though.

Out of curiosity, how long were peoples answers for Q9 in sponsors spouse questionnaire - describe development of relationship? I wrote about one and a half pages and i feel pretty good about it. Will add documents of evidence also.

I believe it's how much effort you yourself choose to put into it. I myself wrote about 8 pages. Detailing everything from family holidays taken, big changes such as moving house, getting a dog. When our families met one another etc. the more detailed the better. These questions I believe are essentially the core of your application. Too much info for immigration is never a bad thing as long as it I relevant

Correct... You do not need to complete IMM 5409.

We used only the space provided in the form and did not add more pages.

We chose quality over quantity. Our total package was quite "thin" since we figured we'd do the humane thing and not overload the case officer.

Plus it was cheaper to send a lighter application through Canada Post. :)

Some people on this thread have done it faster... CIC and MICC must have been in a festive mood since this was done over Christmas period... :)

G'luck...

Paddy, you landed a day before me so hopefully when you get yours, mine will be next!

Hey benjis_monikuss,

Have you received your PR card yet?

I am at 90 days and nothing has been received. I spoke with CIC yesterday and they said my PR card hasn't been printed as yet. They said to call if it hasn't been received by June 22nd which will be 106 days - a week longer than it took for my application to be processed!

My application was received just today (EMS delivery confirmed at Mississauga). Long way to go for me ...

Hi guys!

I just wanted to say it's nice and encouraging to see everyone's posts about their progress.

I just sent my outland application to Mississauga from Brisbane last week so it probably won't make it there for another week. I keep checking the processing times and that sponsor application length just keeps increasing.

Application processes are so stressful, I keep worrying that I forgot something, or didn't include something I should've. -_-

Anywho, it's nice to meet all of you. :)

It's now something like 57 or 58 days for the sponsor part ... :(

I mailed mine from Canberra last week. Took 7 days to arrive.

If you used EMS, use the CanadaPost website to track it in Canada. AusPost doesn't provide all the details.

Nothin'! I was hoping by the time I can back from my 8 day road trip it may have been waiting for me but I've been back in Canada for 3 days and it hasn't arrived. In another week or so it will officially mean it took longer to get the card than process my application. Haven't called CIC yet, waiting to surpass the ever increasing processing time. Had no issues at land crossing for the record. I just want my card so this process can be 100% done!
