Question:
Does anyone know if the CIC office in Sydney will send mail overseas? I may be moving overseas (permanently) in the middle of the application process, and wife and I will need to change our mailing address.

They mailed my COPR from Sydney to Canada so I don't think they mind. It goes air priority too so it's pretty quick (took a week for mine)

Thanks for replying!

I was also curious to know ... how long did others have to wait from when their application was received (via courier) to seeing something on ECAS?

Starting to feel reeeeallly nervous waiting for PPR. Our application has been at Sydney office for 57 days now..which is longer than most who have gone through recently, no 'in progress' online either.
Wondering if it will take longer for us because my common law boyfriend is a British Citizen? Does anyone know or think they have to converse with the London office before making a decision?

He probably has more background checks if he has been living in several countries. And no, the wouldn't converse with LVO.

Hi all,
Just about to send off my outland Spousal sponsorship application, Just wondering how you all went about packaging it?

Did you just use 3 Manila folders and put them in another and send or should I just separate the sponsor and sponsored and put the "proof of relationship'' in with my sponsored persons app?

I've got about 50 photos and a printout of a trip we had. We live together in Canada and I've been in Canada our entire relationship. Would I need much else or would that be fine, seeing as we've ticked off that we live together?
I've added a guest list print off for a future bigger wedding ceremony we've planned with IMM 5490.
Also is it ok to send the original Marriage certificate? We just ordered 2 anyway.

Thankyou for any input!

* One big envelope to be sent through courier so you know when it arrived.
* The folders sound like a good idea, but we used paper clips since it's lighter. We had 3 stacks.
* Photos... Sounds like us.
* None of our documents were returned so be prepared to lose anything you send them.

G'luck...

Agree with BubbOZ - we also used paperclips and I also had lots of Post-it's with little notes on them. In our case, they were kind enough to return our photographs - but that was it.

Just sent mine today to Mississauga!
Ended up doing the 3 separate folders of Sponsor, Sponsored person and Proof of Relationship and just lackey banded them together and couriered off ( I live in Canada though )
Didn't end up anywhere near as big as some of the pictures I've seen on this forum.
Wish me luck!

Start the clock with the courier receipt date because it'll take some time to get your AOR.

G'luck... :)

Hello. This is my first posting but I have been using the forum as a resource as I completed my application. Thank-you all for sharing your experiences and advice, they were incredibly useful in deciphering the maze of hoops to jump through. Our application was submitted June 10th with great relief and all we can do now is wait.

Good luck and feel free to ask whatever comes your way - I certainly did and I wouldn't know where we'd be without the forums!

How long did it take you Bubboz? I should get the courier receipt tomorrow… Can I use that AOR for my next Visitor visa Application?
My current visitor visa expires mid August.

It's finally all over! I received the PR card in the mail today, so 99 days! Crazy but it's finally done. Woohoo!

Our working holiday visa for Australia is up September 20th and while we are hoping we get PPR soon then COPR, who really knows right?
So we would need to leave the county and thus change our address. So starting to think up plans now...we are thinking that we would travel through SE Asia for 3 weeks, then visit England before heading to Canada. Would it be better to use my boyfriend's parents' address in England or my parents' address in Canada?
Changing the address to one in England wouldn't mean that the Sydney office would want to send our application to the London office does it?
Or are there any rules against the applicant being in Canada and then receiving the COPR?
Thanks for any input!
