I plan on applying for citizenship as i'd like to have the right to have a say in the country i live in by voting, plus you have to pay to renew your PR every 5 years (i believe) plus i'd like to have a canadian passport since i don't plan on ever leaving my hubby n going home :)

As the applicant i probably wouldn't risk it...sure it'll take a bit longer to get the new passport, but its still quicker than the back and forth with the visa office if they decide to send everything back cause the names don't match =\

They do the rabies vac, and then later on at your vet they will do a blood test to make sure the vaccination took, if not then you gotta do it again, so leave yourself a few months before the flight to get it done as there's no gaurentee it will take first time
