    Medical forms

Just so there's no confusion: the IMM 1017 form has several copies (it's a carbon copy thingy, the doctor writes on the top copy and it's visible on the bottom ones as well). The top layer he keeps and sends with the medical results. Copy 2 (the second layer) is what you get and send in with...

    where to send medical forms

apache, that is how it works for other types of applications (student visa, skilled worker and the like). In the case of sponsoring a partner or children, the medical has to be done BEFORE the application is filed. The form confirming the medical was done is a required part of the initial...

Landing - sponsor must accompany person landing? Conflicting answers:(

If the sponsor is already living in Canada, then it's not an issue. Of course they don't need to present at the landing. Problems can happen when the sponsor is living abroad while sponsoring. In order to be able to sponsor, they have to prove they intend to relocate to Canada when the...

    where to send medical forms

If you have not applied yet, then the results of the medical exam are sent to the regional medical office. They wait there until a visa office requests them - they use the IMM 1017 form that you will send with your application to locate the results and so know where to request them from. The...

    Docs translated?

For the PR application, you have to have any document that isn't in English or French translated. For anything unofficial (like chat logs, cards, letters, ...) you can do the translation yourself, but anything official (marriage certificate, police certificates and anything else you're...

Some questions on PR (spouse) visa application

So you have how many addresses? LOL The residential address is where you live. So put down the address of where you live (ie where you sleep most nights). My guess would be this would be your home address in Australia. The mailing address is where you wish to receive communication from CIC...

    Updating status

There's nothing to say you have to change your last name. You can keep your maiden name as long as you like and if you want, you don't ever have to change it. It's not an issue with CIC. So if you'd rather wait until after you've done the sponsorship and your husband is in Canada, that's fine...

SPONSOR SPOUSE WHILE LIVING IN ANOTHER COUNTRY WITH HIM? *I'm a BORN CAD citizen

ARC is Authorization to return to Canada. And if they are going to need one, it probably means the husband was deported from Canada or close to it, meaning there were issues with his status in Canada and it was right to not apply inland as he'd probably not be able to stay in Canada until the...

waiting for a responce from Vienna

Just a tip: every time I saw an update on Ecas, it was made on a Tuesday. So keep a closer eye on it on Tuesdays :)

Handwriting VS Typing forms and extra info

I did all of mine by hand because I felt that would make them more personal somehow. But I doubt it makes a difference to CIC - as long as they can easily read what is written, it's all good.

Sponsoring spouse from abroad, PLEASE HELP, Thanks.

There is a field on there that asks where you intend to live upon relocating to Canada. That isn't the same as where you intend to land - you can do the landing anywhere in Canada. But if you intend to live in Quebec, you have to do that extra Quebec part of the application. You should be able...

waiting for a responce from Vienna

Ah, grasshopper ;) AOR stands for acknowledgment of receipt - it's a letter that basically says "we got your application, here's a number we assigned to your file, please don't ask us how it's doing until X months pass which is our standard processing time". For me, this was the part where I...

What would you do? Doctor gave me wrong form

Yeah, I had issues with the DMP too. They insisted I have to wait until AFTER I apply to do the medical and that they don't have the IMM 1017 form and can't do the medical for me. That was fun XD I think Appendix C is supposed to be for the DMP. My doctor didn't know what to do with it either...

    Need answers!!!!

Since it's the sponsor who is changing the name, it's not that big of an issue. But, if you're gonna do it, I'd suggest you do it either before sending the application or after you're done with it. That way you won't have to go through the hassle of informing CIC of the change and possibly...

    using stapler for forms

I don't get this. A year ago, everyone on here was screaming "NO STAPLES!" and now it's suddenly staples are fine? ::) Try to avoid using staples. Use a paper clip instead. Works just as fine, but allows CIC to take the forms apart if need be.

Medicals: What did YOU send in? Yes, Appendix C? But what about "Section A"?

The checklist clearly states that the original IMM 1017 (Section A) should be sent, not a photocopy.

What would you do? Doctor gave me wrong form

Umm, no, the form that needs to be sent is the original IMM 1017 (also called Section A, or as I like to call it, the little green form). See number 27 on the checklist: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5491E.PDF Where did you get photocopy from? You could try sending the form now...

Sponsoring spouse from abroad, PLEASE HELP, Thanks.

In order to show they intend to move to Canada, people show all sorts of things. Job offers in Canada, college enrollment in Canada, a house or apartment owned or rented in Canada, letter from family/friends who know of their plans to move and maybe even intend to help them get settled (like in...

    More Questions!

Who's more familiar with the immigration medical tests really depends on the DMP. You can find some confused DMPs in Canada too, so it's not necessary they'll know better than a DMP you'd find abroad. Yes, the medical is only valid for 1 year, if the visa is not issued until then, it has to be...
