    Update**My wifes entry got denied

There’s a thread about it here somewhere, you should look for it, but some examples are a job/school to return to, strong family ties, travel history, etc. Another option could be to apply for a TRV and in the rare case it gets approved you could apply inland and she wouldn’t need to return to...

    Update**My wifes entry got denied

Chances are very high that her TRV will get refused so she will need to show strong ties to her country. If it gets rejected, you still can use that to show the intent of visiting but the impossibility due to refusal.

Just so you get the right info, once you land as PR all other visas are cancelled. You can’t enter as a visitor nor work permit holder because you’re a PR, the only document that’d allow you to enter without a PR card is the PRTD

For anyone who got a photo resubmission request or did not receive your PR card in time for your travels, I just got an email from my local VAC to pick up my passport with the stamped PRTD on it. It took 5 days in total, 3 days to process (1 day each way for the mailing of passport)

Why would he extend his study permit? Is he graduating and planning to go straight back to school? If not, he can apply for a post graduate work permit immediately after graduation as you only have so long after graduation to be eligible to apply.

I did this. You won’t lose your student status but you can only apply once you become common law or get married and obtain your marriage certificate.
