Mine also has an F instead of a B... I wonder what the difference is?

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Thanks for the update, FleetingDasein! I'm so glad everything went well for you. Congrats! ;D Now I just hope my file doesn't get transferred so I can do the same... I'm really not keen on the idea of having to mail my passport anywhere.

    Thread for December 2010 Applicants

I wish I knew where my sanity went, but I lost that years ago... 8) So, how IS everyone staying sane through this process? At the moment, our apartment has never been more spotless, and the Stanley Cup Playoffs are keeping me pleasantly occupied (for now). Anyone else? ;D

    Thread for December 2010 Applicants

For what it's worth, I've started a new thread asking for input from others who have been transferred... Hopefully it will get some answers to questions I've seen posted here...

Applications Transfered from Buffalo to Satellite Offices - What To Expect?

So, a handful of December applicants from the Buffalo office have been transferred to other offices (looks like NYC/Detroit/LA so far) Mine hasn't been transferred yet, but since I'm in the very middle of the December group, it wouldn't surprise me if it does... (REALLY hoping it doesn't, since...

YAY! ;D So glad to hear it went well. Looking forward to hearing more about it, but for now... Sweet Dreams!

It would have been nice if they simply sent everyone's files to satellite offices when they knew they would be doing the computer upgrade in Buffalo. Maybe more of us would be done by now... But I know, thinking CIC should do something involving basic logic is just silly of me! :P

Canada Post is almost as inconsistent as CIC. ::) I once had a package coming from New Brunswick. Twice it was returned to sender because Canada Post claimed out post code doesn't exist. Our entire apartment building has it's own post code! (which I am still amused by, heh...) I'm actually...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Yay! Another border couple! (only reversed... I'm from Buffalo, Husband is in Toronto :) ) I feel your pain on the back and forth visiting. We've been doing that for 7 years now, although I've been spending most of my time on the north side of the border since we were married last year. AOR's...

It's nice to see the Buffalo AOR column finally filling up. Now if we could only just get some more In Process and PPRs! :)

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Well, depending on what time you'll be there Monday night, this is what you may encounter... ;D http://sabres.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=559439 Even if you do get stuck in the shenanigans, 99% of Sabres fans are civilized. Even the heaviest traffic isn't all that bad. Keep an eye/ear out for...

I'm assuming you mean next Tuesday... Good thing you didn't pick Monday (18th). It's the first Sabres home game of the Playoffs, and the HSBC building is DIRECTLY across from the arena. It will be CRAZY down there! ;)

    Thread for December 2010 Applicants

Congrats everyone! ;D I admit I'm jealous... Thanks to the Buffalo delay, half of us December folk are so far behind the rest of you! Let's hope they get cracking on our files!

I was worried about the potential shutdown too, but my dad (USPS employee) told me if it HAD happened, mail would still be delivered, but some services would have been reduced. My other concern was what would happen to people waiting for FBI clearances... Thank goodness gov't didn't shut down! :)

Mine starts with an "F" too. Give it a few days though. I got my AOR on a Thursday, and couldn't log into e-cas till the following Monday.

    Thread for December 2010 Applicants

Ok, maybe not bitter, but definitely a complainer, haha! I would imagine there should be more AORs today. My e-cas was finally active yesterday (I was really surprised, being a Sunday). According to e-cas, my application has been in Buffalo since January 26th. I'm hoping now that they *appear*...

Wow, this guy seems incredibly bitter! And impatient... From everyone I've talked to, patience is key with landing, just as it is with every other step in the process... Ah well. ::) The other links are going to be very helpful. Thanks for finding them! (and saving us all a bit of searching...

Albright-Knox is always good. How long were you planning on staying there? Once you have a more concrete idea of when you'll be heading down and what kinds of things you'd like to do/see, I can give you some good recommendations. Send me a PM if you want. :D qakingaspen: If you've never been...

    Thread for December 2010 Applicants

Nice! I grew up in Buffalo. Now live in north Toronto! (Protip: Don't hang around the Greyhound station in Buffalo any longer than absolutely necessary. Not a pleasant area. I can only guess which hotel you'll be at, but if it's the one closest to the HSBC building itself, there's plenty to do...
