We have had additional docs requested, and I got our CAIPS notes today. Our bring forward date is September 6

Hey Guys,

So my husband landed on April 13th.. it went very smooth. Landing in Montreal was very easy, the immigration side of things took about 10 minutes (he had all his forms completed about his goods and thhings like that). The longest part was actually clearing customs initially and that was due to an old photograph in his passport and an error with his name. So with customs and immigration it was about 1 hour total. They didnt ask him for his CSQ, nor did they ask him where he was going to be staying permenently.

We have already opened his bank account, ordered his SIN and next month when he has all the documents necessary he will apply for OHIP.

Thanks for the support once again initially. I wish you all a speedy journey to receiving visas.

Hello all! So I have a question about passport request. Do they send e-mail or official letter with the request of your passport? Which email address they use: sponsor's or applicant's? Does it actually say that Decision is made?
I am worrying what if they send email and it goes to spam folder and you delete it by mistake...

well for my wife they called her telling her to bring her passport to the embassy in costa rica so they can send it for her.

I got only one email from the VO requesting my passport. Either to be sent to them and the passport will be returned to the address the had on file (would have waited a few weeks for the return) or to drop it off at the VO in person and be able to pick it up with the visa on the same day.

I did not get anymore mail or emails from the VO than this one. The VO used the email address I submitted with the I initial application.

Hi Maja. My PPR was also by e-mail, sent to the applicant. Mine did not say that a decision had been made. It said, "This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. We are now in a position to request your passports for visa issuance." The subject line of mine said "Passport Request Letter - (file number) - (applicant's name) - fc/mg "

However, every Visa office is different in the way they do it, so I don't know how much help that is. Keep an eye on your e-mail, your spam folder, and your mail box, I guess!

Just like CIC to be inconsistant and keep you on your toes.

Hi, Tuesday like all other Tuesdays with no news form VO ;D
The last letter from VO was in Feb, they said if I don't hear anything by April 24th, I can contact them. I am planing to send Case Specific Enquiry before Easter.
