They will request for your status in Canada on the day of interview. Your PR card is what they will use to determine if you will get the 10 years visitors visa.

If CIC requests additional documents or medical reassessment from you, its a sign that someone is working on your file, at least.

I normally check my ECAS once in two or three 3 weeks just to save my myself the disappoinment when there is no new update. That was why it took me 2 weeks to know that I have DM. Ever since I got DM I only check my email every now and then 'cos you never know when the magical PPR email comes...
