Hi CanAusian Don't lodge the application with Sydney, send it to Mississauga first. They will process your application to sponsor first then will send the whole package to Sydney. Our application process was fast. Lodged in late Feb and we got the visa by June so would you have enough time...

Yep, same here. We have a house to sell too, so we put it on the market figuring we'd have a few months up our sleeve and it sold in one week!! So now we're madly trying to get organised to leave on settlement date which is about six weeks away. That's a house full of furniture, a toddler...

We did exactly that Suva, provided proofs for both applications then put the whole package together in the order of the checklist.

Hi Canadaau My ecas showed 'in process' and medical recieved but nothing else for quite a while. Even when I got my passport request letter it still showed the same thing. It wasn't until I sent my passport in and got an email from Sydney letting me know that my passport was on its way back...

I got all of my original cards and photos back in a package with my PPR letter. All neat and tidy with nothing missing :)

Hi, my ecas only ever showed 'application received' until the day I recieved my visa back in my passport. Then it was updated to 'decision made'.

I had missed a period of time in my personal history and they needed me to verify where I was and address.

Thanks Love_Young and dakonej! :) I like the welcome to Canada picture. Thanks gally and yes, I received all of my photos and cards back in the mail along with the PPR letter. It was a really nice surprise to get them, especially the cards as I hadn't taken any copies and had sent orginals.

Thanks canadianwoman. When I read about people getting their visas quickly, I would think wow, that's great...I hope it happens to me. It did. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this has a ripple effect throughout the consulates and suddenly people are getting them issued. Now that's a nice thought :)

Very cute...I had to laugh. Our day starts out the same way, only it's Dora the Explorer for our two year old son. And yes, we are also blessed to be together while this process is happening. I read some of the posts from people who are separated and don't know when they'll be back together...

Thanks Kedeisha and Bangkokcanuck! Yes, I was really surprised at the speed of the application process. I fully expected to have it happen by October if all went well. There were a few hiccups along the way (some things I had forgotten) but Sydney are doing an amazing fast job on processing...
