    I took them at Walgreen's in the US, and got them approved. However, my wife took them the same place and time I did, and hers were rejected.

    I haven't been able to find the site with the CIC statement on it, addressing the flagpoling. I can tell you we had a great experience landing in Toronto. If you're not flagpoling then I don't think the timing really matters.

    The actual weight is less than 1 pound, however I put 1 pound since it was the smallest amount accepted on the site.

    If it's not time sensitive, you should have your friend make an appt and complete the landing at an inland office. The Rainbow Bridge has been problematic for lots of people.

    You can certainly enter via land border, in a personal vehicle with COPR and Passport. I've been doing this a couple times a week for the last 3 weeks at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls. No one has lectured me, they just waive me through. My wife also crossed with me doing the same thing...

    You have to be present in Canada for 730 days, or 2 years of every 5. I wouldn't cut it that close however, as you'll want to allow yourself additional time for traveling, of if you need to leave the country due to family emergency or something. 2.5 years is probably a safer idea than being...
