Sending passport from USA to Canada

I used USPS to ship to Ottawa, however shipping back is a different matter. USPS doesn't pick up from them like Fedex. I originally sent it with a return UPS label, however they contacted me via email and asked me to send a FedEx label, so that's what I did. Here are the directions they sent...

Anyone have any experience becoming proficient, specifically in Ontario or any province outside of Quebec? If so, how did you do it? How long did it take you? Did you end up passing the TEF or securing employment in which you are able to utilize your French?

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

Is that so? Well in some places, you'll find that they're the only place that's authorized by RIV to do you import inspection, so hopefully that's not the case for you. No complaints here, I was in and out, install and inspection completed with no problems.

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

I have a Nissan Maxima, I got my DRLs done at Canadian Tire to avoid being ripped off by a garage. I think it cost me CAD240.

    Rainbow Bridge PR Landing FAILED

Niagara seems to be the only area I've heard of with these restrictions, which originally were said to only be the "summer" schedule. The Niagara region is also part of the most populous corridor in Canada, so maybe that's why they extended it.

Which province are you looking at living in? I would look for info specific to that province, I had all weathers, and had to switch in Quebec. However I have never heard of this requirement in Ontario... so it may depend. Here's a little info on the Quebec tire situation, which of course will...

Depends on the province, for instance in Quebec there is a deadline date to have them installed, and they have to have a certain symbol on the tire attesting to the quality of the winter tire.

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

If it's not on your original items to follow list, they will hit you for taxes. Although you may not have to pay the full duty, I think you can contact RIV to get further information.

Different states have different agreements with different provinces. For instance for New York state, Ontario can access driving records online, whereas for AZ they can't. Printouts aren't accepted so you have to request it by mail, or show up in person for some states, it all depends on which...

Best way to do a border run (Montreal - US border)

The bus to the border ticket included round trip I believe, the down side is that you have to wait for everyone to complete their business before it heads back.

Best way to do a border run (Montreal - US border)

You can catch the bus to the border from McGill. Not much transportation options going to the border from Montreal. The other bus options are a bit difficult to navigate on the way back, since they don't turn around and come right back...

Travel Daily to USA with Canadian PR

Yup, you'll need to export the car from the US first, they say you have to wait 72 hours to cross back in to Canada but you don't. Then keep the documents in your car. Once that's finished, begin the import process on the Canadian side, and once again keep the documentation in your car. I did...

Travel Daily to USA with Canadian PR

I believe that as a Canadian PR you can get a Nexus card. If you're a frequent border crosser, it makes a tremendous difference. Apologies, by import process I was referring to importing your car.

Travel Daily to USA with Canadian PR

Sure, I have. I'd recommend having your title, and documents proving you're initiated the import process with you in your car. I also have a Nexus card which makes it alot faster crossing the border. If you don't have these documents with you, they may give you a hard time, I learned that the...

Form B4 (Goods to Follow/Accompanying List): How to ???

You need to declare all your accompanying goods at first landing. There's no rule that they need to all come at one time, but you definitely need to have everything on your list at first landing. I did a temporary landing, then came back for my car and other items, and they were sure to check...
