Foody69 is correct. Your PR card is not taken away at the citizenship test.

I have ;). But the last date in October is on the 14th... I highly doubt that I will get an invite as it is just 15 days away. I have a funky feeling my file is being overlooked :( as like I said that applicants that took the test 2 weeks after me in Edmonton already have their oath invite :(

Sometimes it takes eCas two days to update... mine said this on August 20: "we sent you a letter on August 18". It still took a few days after that to receive the actual letter....

My test invite took just over three weeks to arrive so yours should be there in the next two weeks hopefully! And yes the application process is a waiting game...I did my test 4 weeks ago and have not received an invite to the oath ceremony yet others from my local office who took test after me...

You should be able to renew it now as on CIC's website it only states that in order to renew a passport your current one needs to be valid or not been expired for no more than one year.
