Yes, I talk from experience! :) I lost my first card within the first year while I was abroad. Got a travel document, came back, did the whole nine yard and got a new card valid for 5 years from the new issue date!

Hi there, When you lose your card, you need to re-apply for a PR card just like you did the first time when you applied for your initial card. If your residency obligation is not under question, the card is going to be valid for 5 years from the date it's issued.

Hi, My husband did this in Dubai through VFS. It took him 10 days to receive his passport back with a 9 year multiple visa. (his passport was valid for 9 years then) It was very easy but then again our son was born here and I'm also working here full time! Good luck
