No news from CIC yet. Finally spoke to a VFS Canada agent, explained him my situation. According to him, it is absolutely fine to submit passport for stamping with VFS Canada center with only a printout of PP Request email and documents mentioned in that email (if any).

My details were not updated in the spreadsheet. I have updated them now. I have received PP Request on May 9th, 2014.

Not yet. Still waiting. Pretty sure if I call them, I'll get the same standard answer like yourself that they are yet to reach my email in their clearance que. I really wish that they had separate email addresses for each step so that the their turn around time would have been much more...

PP Request was received on Friday evening (Ottawa time). I saw it Saturday morning in India. Immediately replied stating that I am in India. Later based on suggestions from the forum members, wrote a separate email to CPC Ottawa on the same. Considering the weekend, wasn't expecting any action...

So I can courier them using speed post at their CHC New Delhi address without involving a third party vendor like VFS Global?

I did mine in India. However same rules apply to all the panel doctors from CIC website irrespective of their location.

Glad to help. Ideally there should be no issue however just check with the doctor's office while booking an appointment. I did mine with photocopy of my passport.
