No , it doesn't matter. They don't ask you questions about your car. I rented one. yes, you can park the car in the canadian side and walk around, a bit pointless though since you can actually drive in with the car. But I actually saw a couple doing it ahead of us.

Ok, you have an easy way out for this. Do the landing this weekend at a border. You'll get your PR in time for your Europe trip. As for the USA trip, you don't need the visa for trips between canada and the US. Your current work permit will be good enough to re-enter. So you can just travel...

Correct. You can ask for and get a refund for sure after landing. And you do need to have valid work permit or be in implied status. A bit pointless your question though, since you already will be on implied status because you already applied for a WP extension. So what does it matter the COPR...

Received by CIC on the 22nd! You should be in next week lot. I have noticed they only send passports once a week. (please somebody correct me if I'm wrong)

That is not true. Vast majority of PR applications are being processed in around 12 months. i feel for you, since sadly CIC tends to forget a few applications here and there each month which get delayed, but the big bulk is done all the way to January 2015 applicants.
