    March 2024- Citizenship Application

You’re well within the normal processing timeline so not sure what you’d gain from trying to contact IRCC at this time. Applications take time. I suggest not focusing on it for a while and doing literally anything else.

    Called for interview

It isn’t random. Interviews happen if an officer: “needs to verify the applicant’s identity, authenticate photocopies of documents on file with originals that are presented at the interview, and/or obtain information to determine if the requirements for a grant of citizenship have been met...

    Can't find COPR

Those instructions are pretty clear. You take your PR Card as THAT is your proof of PR status. No need to overcomplicate things.

    March 2024- Citizenship Application

All the more reason why trying to use other people's applications as a gauge of timing for your own is always an exercise in futility. There are no "trends", just individual applications.

    March 2024- Citizenship Application

If your name + date of birth combo is not unique enough for IRCC to establish your identity from those two alone, then they’ll ask for fingerprints to resolve the potential match, and confirm your identity. So no, not everyone has to provide fingerprints.

Is it unusual for for the time between BG and LPP to exceed two (2) months?

There is no set timeframe for stages in an application. It takes as long as it takes unfortunately. Request your GCMS notes via ATIP if you really want to know what’s going on with your application. If you need to apply for visas for work travel, you should start doing so now, under the...

    Presence Test for Citizenship Hypothetical

“Either the day the applicant leaves Canada or the day they return is considered an absence, but not both. If the applicant leaves Canada and comes back the same day, it is not considered an absence.” However, feel free to call IRCC directly to clarify their stance on your hypothetical.

    Canada Citizenship Application

You can apply from outside Canada but: You’ll have to inform IRCC that you are outside Canada when it comes time to take the Citizenship test. You’ll have to explain WHY you are outside Canada if you get called in for an interview. You’ll need a rock solid reason for being outside Canada should...

REQUESTING FOR A NEW DATE FOR MY DAUGHTER (MINOR) CITIZENSHIP OATH CEREMONY

IRCC make it pretty clear that you should try and be in Canada as your citizenship application progresses. They also make it clear that “You need to be in Canada to take the Oath of Citizenship. If you get your invitation while you’re outside Canada, reply to the invitation email to explain your...

    March 2024- Citizenship Application

Those 3 areas (commonly known as LPP) will progress and eventually be completed. No set timeframe for when that will happen, given that every application is different. Could be within a month, could be longer or shorter. Once LPP is completed, you’ll be notified of approval/ invited to take the...
