Citizenship application timelines once on the "winning list"

Either you heard it wrong or call centre agents are saying whatever to make people happy :D

    Passport Stamp Translation

Hmm... I thought you just need to translate the ones in the eligibility period, but you have a good point: the officer wouldn't know the ones that you didn't translate are out of the eligibility period, if they are not in English or French. I think I also used Docbase. They may not be the...

    Job status during citizenship application

Without AoR they don't know who you are, so it's useless to contact them. After receive AoR if you leave for a month, you have to let them know.

Request for Supplementary Evidence received 3 months late [CIT 0520 (06-2015) E]

You need to contact them ASAP. If anything, just to let them know you got the letter way late due to postal delivery issues (something you can't control). Otherwise you risk them thinking you have abandoned your application.

    Police Certificate

Were you in your home country between Feb 2015 and Nov 2015? If yes, that's over 183 days in the last 4 years so you'll need a police report.

    Need your help again. Please

Yeah read the whole book twice and do a couple dozen mock tests. That should guarantee a pass. There's an audio version of the book that you can listen while at work, on a bus etc.

Dependent child studying overseas - Citizenship application

You don't have to wait 5 years after landing as PR to apply for citizenship. Per current rules 3 years is enough if you live continuously in Canada. I don't think minors have to satisfy the residency requirement but your son will be 22 in 3 years so I don't know if he'll qualify as a minor or not.

Record of Landing (CoPr) after securing Citizenship

I heard you need that to get old age pension. It's best to replace it if lost, or correct it if there's an error on it.

Benefits to Citizenship VS. Permanent Residence?

Yeah residency obligation and serious criminality are the two major ways (maybe the only ways?) that you can lose your permanent residency. That obviously assumes you obtained PR legally and won't renounce it.

    Language Proficiency failed

This thread is very old from 2014. The original poster is probably long gone now. I'm wondering in your application what proof did you include for your wife's English proficiency?

Benefits to Citizenship VS. Permanent Residence?

I'd like to know if anyone has committed a crime right after a citizenship ceremony. Like, "Woohoo!! I AM FREE!" *Steal the judge's wallet and run

Benefits to Citizenship VS. Permanent Residence?

The main thing is once you're a citizen, you don't have to deal with CIC/IRCC any more!

Applying for citizeship alone without wife and Kids

No issue. Just apply as single applicant (but tell them you're married in the application form). The officer might ask you why your wife is not applying in the interview. Just tell them what you said in your post.

Urgent processing of Citizenship based on US job offer

You still have that L1 option, if your citizenship processing is over 12 months? I find it hard to believe any employer would wait that long, but I guess they might just find you worth it ;)

Urgent processing of Citizenship based on US job offer

If you're applying for a job in the Canadian military or RCMP, which requires citizenship, that might qualify. I heard someone on this forum applying for a RCMP job got urgent processing approved in a few months.

Very important*** need help and advice

Yeah I remember that, too. But I didn't read the thing in detail so I don't remember if it specifically said "indictable offense" or just "offense". There seems to a major difference between the two when it comes to citizenship eligibility.

Very important*** need help and advice

Copied this from CIC website: it looks like you have to inform them if you are charged with an indictable offense, even if you are not convicted yet. You said the police did charge you, but was it an indictable offense? If it was a summary offense, which is $5000 fine/6 months jail or less, then...

    +13 MONTHS APPLICANT

There's no extra reading needed. Just read the book a few times and do some online mock tests. That was more than enough for me.

Canadian passport with given name "XXX", will OCI have "XXX" too ?

Wait, so they literally put three X's down as your given name? Sorry to laugh at this but I find it pretty funny :D Why can't they just leave it blank..

    fingerprints

It doesn't have anything to do with him not been anywhere. It's because his name is the same or similar to someone they found with a criminal record. So they need the fingerprints to confirm that person is not him.
