Parents & Grandparents Program (PGP) 2023

Its a very brutal and unfair system, i feel so bad for you. I waited 7 long years before i finally made it this year. Its hard to find words of hope or encouragement, but my best hope at least since 2020 was that they keep pulling out of that draw each year from the ' 2020 Interest to Sponsor...

Parents & Grandparents Program (PGP) 2023

The checklist asks for CV for primary and dependents. Any suggestions on what should be included for mother and father, any formats/templates that anyone could share?

Parents & Grandparents Program (PGP) 2023

I got the invitation yesterday and my parents are in Canada at the moment on supervisa. 1. Does anyone know if they can apply for PR from inside Canada or need to return to their home country? 2. Could there be problems down the road if they stayed in Canada while the visa application is under...

Parents & Grandparents Program (PGP) 2023

This sounds like a good advice to me, I have heard from immigration consultants that applications with conflicting intentions can influence the decision of IRCC with regards to one or both applications. PR is an intent to live permanently in Canada which is contrary to a travel visa where you...

Parents & Grandparents Program (PGP) 2023

I am assuming you had included both parents on the Interest to Sponsor form. So when you get invited you can let IRCC know that only 1 parent will require to be sponsored. It says on the letter of invite - "If your information (other than your email address) has changed since you submitted the...

Parents & Grandparents Program (PGP) 2023

Good morning folks, I received an invite this morning for my parents ~8am PST. My number starts with 946. I've been trying my luck every year since 2017 and feel extremely lucky to win the lottery finally. So I fully empathize with the feelings of anxiety, excitement, frustration, despair and...

    2017 PGP Applicants

Good morning, Thank you for creating this thread, I too am hoping to apply in 2017. I reviewed the user guide on the weekend and had some questions so I called the helpline. And I was shocked to hear what the agent had to say. They don't answer general questions anymore - as in any...

Can I submit affidavit or educational doc instead of DOB certificate?

Hi Harry, If you do not have the DOB certificate go to a notary and get an affidavit with you name, DOB, place of birth and name of parent(s). This is more than enough. I did not have it either and sent some other document and my application was returned, lost 4 weeks in that transition. You...

Hi there, A friend of mine had a similar situation (but not the same). He got married 9 months after applying under CEC and including his wife on the application delayed the process by 3months. But his case was a little different from yours as the spouse was not an applicant. But if you have a...

    Confusion about some rules..!!

Hi there, I had a chuckle after reading yyour question... :). No offence but what you heard about creating a bad impression is just a rumour or someone trying to discourage you. Having your husband here as a dependent will have no affect on your PR application, CIC will not dislike you for...

IMM0008 for CEC application - help please

Hi There, If you are in Canada at the time of application choose CPP-O as the processing office. If you have to go back to India during the processing of your application, you should notify CIC about the change of address. And that in most cases does not affect processing timelines, as someone...

    Checklist

ujbaby & LPS are right, dont submit anything over and above what the checklist demands. It will be a waste of time and effort doing so and will not strengthen your case. If they need more during the course of processing your file they will ask for it, thats something you cannot predict. Good luck!!

Applying in CEC with recommendation letter for roles and responsibilities

Hi there, I can say this out of experience that CIC is very particular about documentation. And for CEC category the employment letter is very important. I can see you have most details and are only missing responsibilities and weekly work hours. Even my organization does not the policy to...
