I have one year and 2 months full time experience in Canada. And my company does not have policy to give any open reference letter for applying PR. I have the company reference letter with letter head for my lease agreement (including company address, my role, designation, date of joining, salary) but in that i am missing the responsibilities. I have ADP pay stubs for all these months and i have t4 also with me.

Could any one advise me that, can i get a recommendation letter from my fellow colleague with notary lawyer affidavit for my responsibilities.

You can provide it from your reporting manager (Supervisor) with a covering letter stating that the company doesnt have a policy to issue reference letters.

vishmi,

mine got screwed because of missing responsibilities. if you don't have them, see the possible options to get them somehow.

Thats right... if the responsibilities are not submitted, you will be in trouble. But, if you could justify / provide valid reasons why you are unable to get it from the company and provide other references, you are probably "okay"....

Good luck.

Hi there,

I can say this out of experience that CIC is very particular about documentation. And for CEC category the employment letter is very important. I can see you have most details and are only missing responsibilities and weekly work hours. Even my organization does not the policy to issue such leters, but when i mentioned it was for immigration they agreed. If your employer still does not agree, try to get a seperate letter with roles and resp and hours of employment and then through a lawyer try an affidavit combining all the different documents. I cannot gaurantee that this will work. But make sure all documentation is complete before you submit the package. Having your application rejected due to incomplete documentation is the worst feeling and i have been through it.

Wishing you good luck.
