Sponsor a dependent child born outside Canada

And THAT'S the unknown! I've seen/been part of several discussions about whether or not a PR needs to be in compliance to be eligible to sponsor. So far, nobody has been able to provide any solid evidence that it would in fact trigger a review at all.

Sponsor a dependent child born outside Canada

I don't believe that meeting the RO is actually a requirement to sponsor...even though it should be, IMHO. There's no mention of it being a requirement on the page.

Have you read through this: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5312-rehabilitation-persons-inadmissible-canada-past-criminal-activity.html [from the link above] Eligibility for rehabilitation This section gives a...

Spousal sponsorship urget question please help

Normally, the Public Policy that is [still] in place for an Inland applicant that waives the requirement for legal status, `sticks' once the applicant has reached the all important AIP stage (which you appear to have met). Those that were already deemed to be `Removal Ready', BEFORE reaching...

Supporting document to prove residency obligation for PR renewal

As mentioned, excessive bank statements is severe overkill. Ideally, a bank statement (or two) showing actual activity in your neighbourhood (ATM activity, debit use at a local shop, etc.) would prove that you were there...as long as this is not a joint account with someone else having access...

    Unsure about an upcoming trip...

I would be in the former camp. Bringing a U-Haul into Canada with your personal effects while you are still a Visitor to Canada is probably not the best plan. Until your PR has been approved, you're likely better off storing your belongings close to the Canadian border, IMHO. Think about the...

    PR CARD RENEWAL DELAY

You do not need your renewed PR Card to leave Canada, right? If there is someone at the address that you provided to IRCC for the card to be mailed to, you can have someone at that address courier the new card to you in India. DHL seems to be a popular choice for others from India. There is...

    Proof of relationship

You replied to an IRCC request for more information; you responded to the request and received confirmation that IRCC received the information AND has added `documents to the file'. That sounds like a response to me. ;) It is not uncommon for IRCC to ask for additional information, such as...

    AIP AOR/PR (inland)

I think you are confusing Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and Spousal Sponsorship AIP (Approval in Principle).

They would not have been denied entry, unless they were otherwise inadmissible to Canada (i.e. criminality).

Proof of status as a visitor from the US

I concur...and you were helping by being a part of the discussion! There really doesn't seem to be much continuity regarding U.S. citizens entering Canada. CBSA has even been known to stamp the U.S. passport of a PR upon entry into Canada! I was somewhat shocked to learn that, up until the...

Common Law Sponsorship - Proof of Cohabitation

You need proof of cohabiting from day one (or as close as possible) until you accrued one full year. That is what qualifies you as a Common-Law partner. After that one year, the burden of proof is somewhat diminished, but you do need to show that your relationship is continuing. Text messages...

Days of residency for PR renewal

To maintain PR Status, a PR must reside in Canada for at least 730 days (2 years) within each and every rolling 5 year window. The 730 days do NOT need to be sequential.

Offered job in Canada. PR Card expired, RO not met. Planning to enter via US border.

Absolutely! There have been posts from many here that had no issues whatsoever. Just be prepared to answer questions. With an expired card, it is probably more likely than not that you will be sent to Secondary Inspection, but...you won't know until you cross.

Offered job in Canada. PR Card expired, RO not met. Planning to enter via US border.

It would begin with the CBSA officer writing a 44(1) report for breaching the residency Obligation that is the [only] requirement, really, to maintain PR status. PR Cards expires, but status never does. It can, obviously be revoked for non-compliance. The officer would then need a Minister's...
