Today my parents have received medical request in regards to the Super Visa Application that they filed 2 weeks ago. It would be great if someone can answer the below questions.

My parents have applied for Super Visa 2 days ago from Lahore. People at VFS were very co-operative. They took their application, looked at every bit of detail on all the forms (inclusive of Super Visa insurance). Fingerprinted them and the application was accepted.
Hoping for the best. I'll...
As far as I have understood, the duration of the Super Visa (if given) depends on the validity of the passport. If the passport is valid for 10 years, they will stamp the Visa for 10 years.
In my particular case, they did return all of our applications back. However I'm sure once you send them your son's application back they should be able to link it with your family application.
I just saw the status update this morning. You can see movement on your file/application using your client id which is your PR Card Number (XXXX-XXXX) even if you haven't received AOR by mail.
I'm yet to receive the Discover Canada book and an official AOR from CIC, hopefully will receive it soon.

I landed along with my family on August 17, 2009.
We received our PR Cards around October 20, 2009. With this time line one can judge that they are taking over 2 months to process and send the PR Cards.
I hope that the above information helps.
Thanks for the quick response.
