Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forum, just wanna share my situation:

Nova Scotia received my application for citizenship on November 8, 2013 (confirmed by Fedex). Up until today I got nothing in the mail. I'm expecting the acknowledgement letter + study book. I followed timbermere comment and typed my client ID from my COPR in the On-Line Services website and boom: It reads the following:

1) We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 8, 2013.

2) We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on November 8, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3) We started processing your application on January 27, 2014.

Today is Feb 9, 2014. Should I assume the letter acknowledging receipt of the application + study book is just lots in the mail??? If I call them do they re-send that stuff?

Thanks!

Hi,

It takes about a month from the day they start processing your app and the day they send out the physical letter. Don't worry, your application is doing fine! If you want to start preparing for the test, you can find an electronic copy of the study book on CIC's website.

Just checked my ecas Feb. 9th, 2014 and here it is:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 18, 2013.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on November 18, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on February 4, 2014.

ahm.. it has been going 3 months and I haven't received the AOR and the book.. Lost in the mail?

It takes about 3 to 4 months to receive the booklet....relax you will get it, you still have many mind game to play with CIC, this one should be least of your worry

You shouldnt be worried about receiving the book or letter as your e-case is already updated. Just get an electronic copy of the book and start preparing for your test. good luck.

I couldn't resist and ended up calling the CIC call center.. ???
Nothing for me yet. Call attendant said they are "technically" working on applications received up to November 15, 2013.

I do believe the applicant's local office play a major role in determining how quickly they get back/start working on the application.

Now, I am just hoping my application didn't somehow get lost or forgotten somewhere obscure where no one can find it. haha no, but really, I hope they have my application... :'(

Dear friends,

If you don't want to get crazy, try to do this exercise ( it works and it is more or less accurate) : To know whether your application is getting processed within the normal range of days it takes to do the different steps of a citizenship app : Make an average ( and a median) of all the applications that came from your city between august 2013 and today , you will need the average of the timeline between the In process status and the Test status ( or even better, Oath) ... but test status is more accurate. Out of experience, this always worked for me and sometimes things progressed before the average date ( which is logical since they are slowly reducing the wait times )

I agree that local office plays an important role. Another fellow at this forum had his application received on the same day as mine but he has received his test letter whereas I am still waiting.. He was referred to Toronto office and mine is Scarborough..
