Medical test - test of virginity

No, I'd be suspicious too. But what if the couple were elderly, for example? Just think it's more common than we think - people getting married just for companionship.

CSQ category types (I've also posted this in Skilled Class forum section)

Update: I've since found out the definitions: F1 or F8 = family reunification. Spouse selected in the category of family reunification and indicating a commitment of sponsorship. I5 or ID = live-in caregiver. RA = members of the family of a refugee. Members of a family in Québec who are not...

Two weeks spent together - any chance?

Thanks, tink23 :) Your input gave me a lot more confidence. And truthfully, it makes logical sense, but you know when it's your application at stake you start to question "appearances."

Medical test - test of virginity

Basically, KZV, if the "female" getting the physical is involved in a non-genuine marriage, CIC will get to the truth without checking if anyone's hymen is intact or not, thankfully. Sex does not necessarily define a marriage as sincere just as lack of sex does not define one as fake. There are...

    medical exam

I got mine done in Montreal and paid $230, but it was around $30 extra because it was outland (meaning I had to use a particular form).

RPRF Fees, when to pay ?

I'm so happy you asked this question, pcdmontreal, because I was also wondering it. I payed the $550, so now I know it is rather worthwhile to send in the additional payment for RPRF now. I'm thinking if it'll be better if I send the proof of payment in alongside some additional proof of...

Medical test - test of virginity

Agree with canadianwomen and doctorkb but my experience differs from doctorkb's wife slightly. Technically, you do have to disrobe (the top half) when you do your chest x-ray. I'm surprised she didn't have to do this or maybe he refers to disrobe as, well, everything. Why is this a concern for you?

OUt of curiousity- police certificate timeline U.S.

I think that's really an exaggeration. For me, the problem was more so the mess-up with my fingerprints the first time. I went to a place and as the guy was doing my prints, he had a frown on his face and said he doubts they'll be accepted, they're so bad. He decides to give me a second card of...

Two weeks spent together - any chance?

I read somewhere that CIC doesn't judge the application harshly if it's an "arranged" marriage but honestly, I feel like what your friend seems to have done is like a "self-arranged marriage." I mean, really, what's the difference in the situation besides the fact that they themselves arranged...

AOR is acknowledgement of receipt. What I do when I need a refresher on the acronyms is find any posting by Leon (as he has this legend in his signature). Or I think there's a more lengthy immigration terms post somewhere on the forum.

I'm American and my husband's Moroccan and Canadian. He had to do the same affair with immigration (well, minus the family sponsorship bit) when he was applying from France where he was studying for PR in Canada. Yes, indeed a sense of accomplishment which soon gives way to feelings of...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Good news from kaz and tiggilicous. I came up with some descriptive statistics from sparkle's spreadsheet though.... DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS For the 41 people who DID get PPR on the spreadsheet as of this writing: Mean = 151.59 (interpretation: average person got PPR a little over 151 days -...
